I use Power Quest BootMagic version 1.01., to partition my two 10GBs drives.
The software was included when I bought the system about 5 years ago, from Area51UK, from London. They didn’t include a CD of the software and so, I have not a copy. I’ve been told it was a promotion and they had installed BootMagic 1.01 from a magazine, something like Computer World, or CD review, or something like that… can’t remember. This software was for free. I never realised I would some day need this… unfortunately.
I have two partitions in my drives: the Studio one and the Office one. The Studio one can’t be loaded now, cos BootMagic asks for a file called BTMAGIC.IMG, this file DOES exist in fact, I have searched and found it, but there is no way to load the Studio partition it anymore…
There is a message suggesting me to run the install again. I don’t have the software nor the money to buy the new version, which is the 8 one.
Please, if you have suggestions, or even better, if you are one of those who have the free version in a CD, please, let me know so I can get it, if you are kind enough to send it to me.
It’s real bad, I can’t do a thing, this problem is certainly out of my hands…
Thank you.
Serious DOBULE BOOT problem, please help! I cant’ use my stu
Nestor, there's a file on Powerquest's ftp site called BMwin100-101.zip - looks like an update, but the file is 1.5 mb so it's likely a full install. Running it should repair your installation
Get the file at:
ftp.powerquest.com/pub/old_updates/BootMagic/BootMagic1/BMwin100-101.zip
If you can't get it I'll download it and email attach it to you.

Perhaps something here may help:
"Among these is BTmagic.img, the file BootMagic uses to display the BootMagic Menu. BootMagic allows only one copy of BTMAGIC.IMG among the primary partitions on the master drive. A check confirmed that it does not object to such copies on the slave drive. No operating system will boot if either the MBR or the partition with the BTMAGIC.PQ folder goes sour. Should this occur, a BootMaster Rescue floppy can be used to hopefully recover. Also, BootMagic may be disabled and re-enabled as the need arises."
Also, have you looked here:
