hi helpstone,

no need to shout  just switch over to:
http://www.planetz.com/forums/viewforum ... um=19&2057
and pick the one you can afford.
98SE and XP will both work, but I guess XP might be the better choice with latest P4 boards. Afaik with Cubase SX it must be XP.
I'm fine on a budget system with Intel 815, Celeron 1G and 98SE - I'm no Cubaser.

cheers, Tom

indeed, a lot of that mobo/bios/driver confusion simply doesn't exist on 'older' Apple systems. But beware: with OSX they're keeping pace.
It may develope to a real great media OS but yet it's still far from that, whatever the big Steve tells...
My personal favourites are the silver G4 machines at 350 or 450 MHZ. I've one in the office with all fans except that in the powersupply disconnected. Death silent.
The passive cooler is sufficient for a motorbike  and gets only handwarm.
Easily upgradable with harddisks, memory and CD-Writer.
You may pick one of those around 500 € on ebay, ridiculuous.

cheers, Tom
