)I have Pulsar 2 plus with AES/EBU and ADAT interface for Behringer DDX3216 external mixer.
This is the way I like to set up my studio.
1. I need to set first 16 channels from Cubase SX to be ADAT OUT to DDX ADT IN just for spending more CPU (I have done SFP project: ASIO 2 Source -> ADAT dest and get digital signal from Pulsar to DDX, also activating BUSes in SX and now sound is into DDX)
2. 16 channels from DDX (ADT1616) back to Cubase SX for mixdown (ADAT Source -> Dynamic Mixer, for merging 16 channels to two stereo, than -> ASIO destination (4 channels, 1st for analog IN - Vocal, and 3+4th for digital in from DDX, than audio is back in SX, it work
))))I don't need analog IN's for synths but if I do, I know how to create .)But I have sound from SX into DDX from 1-4 BUS only even I have activated 8 stereo BUS from SX (1-16 channel)??
BTW, I like to use Focusrite direct to Pulsar analog in, so is it possible to connect my Focusrite like insert FX, just need preamp for recording and the other functions for hearing only not recording (it have FX send and return jacks (not XLR) or have to be inserted via DDX analog in and than to Pulsar analog in???
Can I use FX from DDX like insert FX to Focusrite (if Focusrite is connected to Pulsar analog in, or Pulsar FX only?)
3. I like to control the rest of SX channels from itself or via STM2448 ( I have readed here that the quality of mixing is better from STM2448 than from SX, thru the SX BUSes but it eat from Pulsar power as I know and can't use VST plug-ins too)Maybe .... maybe I need more powerfull CW like powerpulsar or Scope with more Sharck's to work realy good.
Any recomendation?
How to route rest of SX channels to go to DDX (digital) just for driving PAIR of faders (subgroup channel from SX)??
I have done this as ...
-Disconnect 15-16 ch from ADAT source/dest module, than connect 15-16 ASIO source to STM2448 IN and Mix OUT from STM2448 to ADAT 15-16 dest module, (ADAT 15-16 source channels are free) but here are clicks and pops with audio signal or no audio is present (don't know why). DDX3216 is master (not thru module 1 but from 44.1 kHz), Pulsar slave and sync is ADAT. Both 44.1kHz/24bit.
I don't use S/PDIF from Behringer DDX3216 to AES/EBU for mixing down or sync because I don't know is it possible to connect S/Pdif direct to AES/EBU without any converter, or mast have AES/EBU expander for DDX?
How do You set up your external mixer, can you send me presets from DDX or explanation of your mixer routing setup to see what's going wrong way?
I think, I don't know how to route DDX channels using BUS or DI output.
I will use SX for mixing down.
Speakers are connected to DDX main out.
