Can mixer package 2 be considered as some kind of upgrade of mixer package 1, so that if you have mixer package 2, you'd not need mixer package 1 anymore?

No. You still need mixer package 1.

Happy to help.

I'd better clarify though. You don't need Mixer Package 1 to use Mixer Package 2. You could just buy Mixer package 2 but you would not get the Dynamic and Micro mixers included in Mixer Package 1. The features of the STM 2448 are in the STM 4896.
