I have a mainboard that supports APIC mode, so I installed ACPI Mode, because this should be possible.
The scope platform registration dialog keeps appearing. When I install in Standard PC mode the registration dialog doesn't appear anymore, but it shouldn't be necessairy to install in Standard PC mode, because my mainboard supports APIC.
What can I do about this problem?

i had the same problem then i instal xp in standard pc mode and solve problem forewer. in the meantime i found that my board supporting apic. what now?!?!
is it any reason to update computer to acpi if i working on the rock solid system with a 4ms latency (3ms possible too) without any even minor problem??

Is it good to assign the IRQ settings in the bios manually to the PCI slot's? For example, IRQ 9 to the PCI Slot with the Creamware card? And other PCI slots to other IRQ slot's? So that there's no IRQ sharing problem?

Thanks sandrob. Will this assigning of IRQ's in the BIOS also solve the ACPI problem, because now the IRQ is no longer shared by other aplications?
When I assign IRQ 9 to the Creamware card, can I be sure that it won't be shared with other programs?

just changed motherboard (asus fried bios) to a gigabyte 8inxp , can't find the place where to switch off apic mode, running in acpi in win xp gives me 24 irq 's , so its definitely compatible, the bios when assigning manually irq 's however only gives me 16. whats going on? how do i also cure the serious midi recording latency problem under acpi; even at 3ms latency my midi notes are 1/16 off where i should have recorded them.
i know standard pc mode cures this , but if i can't tell my motherboard to operate under the same conditions, how am i going to avoid reliability problems?
tests have shown that when starting cubase sx under acpi mode the cpu meter shows zero.
in standard pc mode it straight away shows 5 - 10% even before opening a project.
will aspi 4.71a2 help?
