Until you have spent an adequate amount of time living on the border of Mexico within the US, don't presume that the world would be better off without borders. Borders are there for a reason - that reason may vary from individual to individual, but regardless, there is a border. This is a game that no one wins, but everyone loves to play. I think it would be wise to correct our own mistakes first, before attempting to correct those of others.
As for those in support of conflict, I say put your money were your mouth is. I've given my time in honor of defending my nation. It's very easy to support something without actually seeing it through to completion or becoming part of it. Personally I think that all members of government with children of age should be automatically enlisted into the armed services, including the President's daughters. I think it would have an interesting outcome on the situation and provide a bit more insight into the decision making process.
And yes, I dearly love my "stuff", because it is just that - mine.

This reminds me of a more ancient era when Kings and Princes DID fight at the head of their men - not that it stopped wars from happening. But it would probably give some leaders a more human feel for their decisions. On 2003-01-27 23:47, Chill69 wrote:

The British Royal family has a tradition of military service, with Prince Andrew fighting in the Falklands. A relic of past times but still an example of service.
