Well, it was announced to be in development a long time ago yes, but this time it seems it's almost upon us.
The keyboard version seems to have vanished, and now the module has red knobs! Tasty

And Creamware seem to have listened to us and made a filterbank!

Well, MiniMax has been out for a while, Six-String has been announced, and most of the other instruments came from SFP initially. Hmm, that mixer looks a lot like something from SFP....

I hope there are some other announcements from CW -- we were hoping for some new DSP cards and new software updates (SFP 3.2, or something of the sort). If Noah is the only thing CW is demoing, that isn't *that* exciting considering that we already knew most of Noah already.

Well, we'll just have to see what happens....

According to Creamware - the rack version of Noah is ready. They are still working on the keyboard version for release later in the year. They do still plan to release a keyboard version.

The information is still sketchy about Noah - I would like more detailed information about it from Creamware (e.g., if it will be able to load all SFP devices, or just ones specifically designed for Noah).

I am happy to hear that Noah can be used as an audio device over USB, with six channel of audio.

what I'm wondering about is whether or not it uses the same sharcs, or even a PulsarII (given the price this is all I can imagine they'd put in). Will there be any plug-in key transfer capability, or the ability to slap in one of our own cards?

Or has this all been covered elsewhere?

Come to think of it... you GOTTA be able to transfer passwords from your card to noah. I'd imagine lots of card owners to stay away from Noah if they did it that way. Though there aren't too many reasons for a card owner to get a noah anyway..

ooooohhhh, i'm so glad i still haven't bought a soundcard for my laptop!!! noah, boxed in the same rack as my A8 and an FX box. now if only ableton live would support midi clips... please, someone stop me!

if noah is able to load sfp devices, this is a dream come true for me! an expensive one, but mmmmm (and anyway, i can still sell one of my pulsar I cards to cover a part of cost, and... get a bunch of new devices! i'm especially anxious to meet minimax and pro one (still haven't tried them).)

if they can keep the price under € 2000, i think i'm gonna get me one

studio monitors will have to wait, again...

This thing looks like it will be able to run a Pulsar card - it is essentially a PC built into a keyboard. The information says that it uses a standard micro-ATX motherboard with the ability to expand via the PCI slots or USB. It runs Windows - so any software synth or effects plugins can be run on it as well.

Btw, looking at the new Pro-One that comes bundled with NOAH, there's a few interesting changes. It looks like the filter and amp envelopes are now velocity sensitive (Yes!). The preset lists will be updated now (of course), and the clunky multi-screen display of the synth and sequencer/arp seems to have been ditched in favour of a "main" "add" switch, which I presume switches between the main synth and sequencer.

Let's hope us Pulsar users will get an updated version soon as well.

Anyone know if it is USB 1.0 or 2.0?

I haven't seen many USB 1.0 interfaces capable of 8 channels, but 2.0 should be able to move even more...

I have the same question. I think it pretty much has to be 2.0 - 1.1 doesn't have enough bandwidth to handle that many audio streams. I really wish Creamware would provide the specifics.

On closer look at the brochure - it says it can transfer 8 channels of audio via USB, which probably means 4in/4out, 8 in only or 8 out only (if they made it flexible). However, the Creamware web site says it can only transfer 6 channels - which is more in line with the USB 1.1 specifications. The Tascam US-428 is cable of 6 channels using USB 1.1 (4in/2out).

What about the price? Only the price would tell me if Noah interest me or not...

2 simultaneous instruments for the basic Noah rack, 6 audio channels by USB...

As usual, CW gives incomplete specifications...(what about the samplerates?)

Why the Masterverb, and not the Masterverb Pro? The Masterverb Pro is better (but convolution reverbs have better soundings than Masterverb Pro)
