You must install from 3.1a. Reboot then upgrade to 3.1c. There must be a way to turn Plug and Play OS to "NO" in the Bios. Install XP in normal mode. Don't choose STANDARD PC. The drivers MUST be installed first. Uninstall it to a folder then select update drivers in the Control Panel and go to that folder. If you try to run SFP just so it would not install the drivers first. The software cannot be installed without the DRIVERS installed.

i got the 3.1c version.

now correct me if i'm wrong...

1.I need to install xp in the normal way..ok?
2.install the motherboard drivers...ok?
3.install sfp 3.1a version driver,reboot..?
4.uninstall 3.1a and update to 3.1c only after i copy the 3.1c driver to a folder,reboot..?
5.install the SFP software...

is this ok?

What I neant was unzip the drivers from the SFP 3.1a installation disk to a folder. By default it would be the UNZIP folder. Navigate to that folder first from the "update driver" in Device Manager and select "SCOPE INF" install it. At this point you can install the software. Put in the 3.1c CD and install normally. The system would reboot. WAIT for a while until the system see the next upgrade. Post again if you have problem.
