Is it possible to make cubase busses behave like busses in logic?

I liked the way I could route tracks through a virtual bus and then out through the master bus.

The problem is: I want to add the same compressor to the bassdrum and the bass. I can only get the desired effect by sending them through the master effects. If I try to add the compressor to the send effects for each track - then the bass and the bassdrum are not responding to each other. AND the effect is layered on top of the original sound (parallel).

How do I make this work?

(Hope you understand =)

When compressing a kick and bass, the sidechain function is very useful. Put a compressor on the kick and a compressor on the bass. On the kick channel, activate an aux send, eg. aux send 1. Connect aux send 1 of the mixer to the sidechain (sc) input of the bass-compressor. The kick and bass are now (almost VCA-like) compressed together without fysically mixing them together.

Good luck!

Create a group channel within SX, route the bass and the bass drum into that group and insert a compressor into it.
