Hello folks...
I have a recently built:-
Pulsar 2
Pentium 4
Abit BE7-RAID
Matrox G550
512MB DDR Crucial
40GB Audio Drive and a 20MB System
Windows ME
Logic Audio Platinum
Cusbase SX
I am suffering clicks and glitches from audio drive and transmission errors from system drive when burning CD`s etc...
A previous suggestion was USB conflics may causing this to happen.... on further investigation it looks like my USB isnt wotrking at all... in my device manager I have the dreaded question marks by Universal Host Controllers (all 3 of them)..... USB 2 Root hub device and USB root hub are OK as is Intel USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller..
I have tried to disable all controllers in device manager and I still have the same Audio problem and there isnt a BIOS disable setting I can use to rectify..
How do I go about sorting the problem out... I have tried as much as I can think of...
Please please forward any suggestion as to how to solve this pain in the ass problem.....
(a Mars bar in the post to the winner...)
PS
Same problem in SX and Logic....
Thanks
Andy

How do you resolve USB conflicts?
If you want to disable USB to do testing, There is usually and option in the BIOS that you can change.
Probably something like :-
USB Function Disable/Enable
This is the one you need to disable to remove USB functionality.
Do as abre suggests and remove the highlighted items and let the system re-install the drivers for you. Then try disabling USB in the BIOS to test.
Is DMA enabled for your hard drives?

Nice one fella......
Worked a charm... got bullet proof audio without clicks... The DMA wasnt checked in the right box for any of my hard drives .... also found the disable function in the BIOS for the USB..... (tried reloading the drivers for them and it still wasnt having it!!!)
So I am now very happy...thanks
PS
(hope I kept the reciept for my USB printer...
