And the CW standard MIII module, the DoubleFace Plus (with extra presets):

The song has a quite heavy distorted feel (for me) and for the first time in years I've actually *sung* !

And I did break the contest rules a little - the vocals aren't processed through a Modular device. But maybe I'll be forgiven because since I loaned my only mic, the only thing I could record the vocals through was the inbuilt mic on my laptop ! Definitely lo-fi.

The main chorus line says: "I Like the LFOs". The lyrics were inspired by a MIII patch I've been building which uses masses of LFOs, but which I just can't stop fiddling with. It was going to be the basis of my contest entry, but I've sung about it instead

An example of one of the verses:

<i>"I like the shape
I like the sound
I like the way
That they go round"</i>

Don't expect anything high-brow here

Hope you like it.

Hello Spirit! Some interesting sounds there, particularly on the percussion side of things.

The voices are far away, I couldn’t really appreciate them much least of all what you say; I don’t think this is an issue as long as you don’t mind if we do or do not understand what you are saying, being perhaps more important the music effect you achieved with, rather than the sense of the words themselves.

The panning, being a strong material of the like, seems to cantered to me, perhaps just my impression, I don’t know, but I feel I would like for it to breath in different directions, different levels of reverb deepness and panning. I was very unaware of panning, since some people here in the Z positively criticized me helping me out realizing the extreme importance it has. Panning is as important as when you choose your textures, and in certain kind of music – like in this very one – could be a precious creative addition. Well, that’s it for now.

great beats! I couldn't understand what the voice is saying, but it's a nice effect. sounds like a generic chant. The sound of this tune is very nice. very well produced.

When you can't sing *any* level of your own vocal sounds too high. When I played it to my girlfriend she said: "You can't hear the vocals", so I mixed them way up. But about ten minutes after I posed to PlanetZ I panicked, and substituted the low-vocal mix again. They still sound loud to me

But I am tempted to do a remix . . .

OK, I replaced the original file with a new version, called the "Chile vocal remix" in honour of Nestor and his valuable comments.

I made numerous small changes, pumped up and re-effecetd the vocals, did a bit of work repositioning elements in the stereo space, and quite a bit of subtle EQ tweaking.

Hope no one minds me changing the file mid-contest

Hi Spirit,
I'm afraid that I'm commenting on the original upload but I love it. This has a hint of Aboriginal influence about it to me.
Love the percussive sounds especially.

just listened to the 3 different versions, and i like the second one ('i like...') the most. don't worry! that voice sits where it should be here
didn't particularly like the 'path' version...

what makes this one special for me, are the breaks in the rhythm part. surprising and great sounding.
maybe giving the song a bit more 'drive' somewhere would have been nice (you know, maybe a more 4/4 feel, not necessarily by adding kicks)

is it because of the title or the music, but i dug up that old LFO classic 'frequencies'... that was a really long time ago. thanks
