This is a Stingish song I've been working on from time to time for the past two months. The sax has listened to Branford Marsalis a bit too much imo but hey, i used to like Sting a lot so i kept his play the way he felt it at the time we recorded. Oh well, kind of old stuff, hope you like it cheers

Very cool Laurent!

Nice recording, and yes, like you said very 'Sting'...

The drum seems a bit far to me, maybe i'm mistaking... Dunno... Great recording thou!

BTW, see you next saturday in Paris man!!!

I'm coming!

Nice piece, Laurent! Inspiring mellow sax sound. Why does it seems kind of veiled? Is it the mic position or too much eq? I'd like to hear just a little more brilliance in it, if possible. The voice gets a little too far in the mix during the chorus (1'45) and the bass maybe a little overwhelming (in the chorus).
Don't get me wrong, I like this song, otherwise I wouldn't even bother to reply!

You have a nice voice, too, a pleasant tone.

Last comment: maybe the sax is too present all the time. I think it would gain impact and beauty by appearing and then going away for a little while. There are really nice passages tho, and no good music ever grows old! Human fashion is ephemeral, not artistic beauty!

Maybe we'll meet some day when I come to visit Marc!

Keep the good work!

Etienne

Thank you for this track, yes it has this Sting timeless style.
I won´t judge a 128k mp3, but maybe you can put the drums a little more to the front of the mix and the sax should be mixed as briliant as your voice, both belong together.
Have a good time in Swizerland.
