Any of you guys had any success with using SFP to monitor 5.1 sound from PowerDVD ?
PowerDVD doesn't seem to recognize the digital wave source as a valid sp-dif output, or the good old 16 channel wave driver as being multichannel ? (I can get l & r channel out of it, but nothing on 3-6.)
Any ideas ?
Kim.
5.1 sound with PowerDVD & SFP ?
I'm not entirely sure what's the case here... What exactly are you trying to do? Compose music for 5.1? Sample 5.1 input? Use the surround system as an additional monitoring component?
What i/os doesn't match, and what are the error messages, if any?
Perhaps its my imperfect English, but I can hardly understand the difficulties you're facing.

Hi Kim... I use PowerDvD 4 deluxe with sfp like this
I connect directlydigital wav source to spdif out of my luna, and monitor 5.1 thru a 5.1 system...
If i want to monitor all 5.1 channel on my 2 monitor instead of 5.1 system, i use 3x24 wav source connected into a mixer, then mix them directly in stereo.
Yes, the 16 wav interleave driver isn't recognized by PowerDvD, but 3x24bits wav source is... So in PowerDvD, select 6 speaker output... it'll work.

I still can't get it to work
Maybe I'll have to do a complete re-install of SFP to get it working...
Did you set up anything in the advanced section of the audio controlpanel ?
Are you able to access it at all ?
What are your wavedriver settings ? (No. of ports and channels.)
Does PowerDVD recognise the Creamware drivers in "info" part of the settings dialog ?
Kim.

Hey, wait a second you all...
This was working before, i recorded tracks like that, but now, to make sure, i did a test, and i have the same problem as you!!!
Damn! I can't have more than 2channels now!
I'll have to reinstall PowerDvD3 to see if it is the PowerDvD4 version that create this...
Don't reinstall all yet!

marcuspocus, did you test any further ?
I've solved it for the time being: I bought a dvd-player with decoder & 5.1 analog out !!!
