hey,
Just a couple of qestion here. What do you think, is this a good buy?It will certanly add more flexibility to my music. Now im using a 12 channel behringer, but the prob is that in the end the whole thing goes in through one input on Luna.SO if I get the box should I sell the mixer or not and does the i/o have a master out or something to connect it with my speakers/monitors...?
A great thanks in advance for the replys..

Hi, i have the luna IO box... It has 8 in unbalanced RCA and 8 out unbalanced RCA plugs...
Everything can be freely routed, so any of those 8 output can be your master out if you want...
It depends on what you plan to connect on it...
If you want to plug the output of your mixer i think this would be fine, but if you are already using some of your mixer functionnality, keep it...
A better options in imho, if your gonna use for alot of recording and you need balanced xlr output for your monitors for example would be an A16U....
But again, this all depends on your needs...
There is one thing for sure, both io box have excellent sound qualities, warm and precise.
The big advantage of using those, is the Zlink. With other box, using adat, it is possible to have sync issues (master, slave, which one should be master, wordclock, etc), while zlink is always perfect...Not to mention the possibility to use 96khz on zlink, while adat is limited to 48khz most of the times (yes, there is S/MUX, but not all devices support this).

hello marcuspocus,
and thanx for replying on such a short notice.Ok here is the thing, please bare in mind that I am still under-aged and thus dont have any regular income or something similar (except grandma
. You see dont expect I have a wickid desk. Its a very strecthed version, with no FX just a basic 3band EQ, so I dunno what im about to profit from it...except going analog.
Im not an around the clock recorder but I do like to record bands from time to time and the single "in" has been making my time quite hard. You know I look at it from this side..I never know if I will ever need live drums or any other sort of live instruments in my arrangements, that need severaly mikings. And plus I think if I already am playing a "producer"
I really should need several inputs !

if you do need more than 1 input, you definitely shoudl get the luna... or any sort of adat D/A converter. Dont' worry about your desk setup.. I earn occasionally with music, and heck, I don't even have a mixer! (only on SFP) Get the converter, and then the monitor speakers. You'll be crankin' out awesome tunes in no time.
Actually, I haven't seen your tunes in the music forum... got any I can listen to? nudge nudge?

I am having chronic problems getting ADAT signals into SFP through a Roland VM3100pro, and am considering either a Luna box or A16-U. I really only need about 8 inputs, since I mainly use DSP synths and samples routed in SFP. However, my outboard stuff is all 1/4 inch or XLR. Do you use adapters with the luna box for these signals? Is there quality loss in going to RCA?
Lastly, with the A16, can you use 8 tracks through the zlink and the other 8 through optical if you only have one Zlink plug? (I have an old pulsar1 and a powersamplerII.)
thanks,
Mythalethe
