Second monitor flickering

I've just developed an odd problem on the second monitor hanging off my Matrox 550.

For no particular reason I can think of, the top right-side corner of the second monitor has started to flicker. It pulses steadily at about 3 or 4 pulses per second.

Does anyone know what might cause this ? Nothing in my set-up, potioning, settings etc has changed.

I’ve seen similar behavior when you get your monitor too near a strong power supply, or some sort of magnetic staff. So be careful if you have your monitors too near your Screen, cos you may damage it forever. This is what a friend of mine just did. He put his monitoring system near the Screen and… “hasta la vista baby”, the Screen now has a strange blue color into the right corner and flickering. I can’t think of any other reason, this is the only one I know. Hope it goes well…

Seems that a thunderstorm here may have somehow altered some display settings (

) well, that's all I can think of that might have caused it. There was a huge thunder "crack" just as I was switching everything off in case of surges. I do have a surge buster, but it's not fantastic.

Anyway, I redid all the settings for the Matrox 550 and everything went back to normal....

(Thought I'd add this because there's nothing worse than doing a search for a problem, finding a thread, and then it doesn't have a solution

)

a small additon to the weather thing:
better even unplug from the wall outlets.
If a lightning hits the house there's nothing to stop it. The high voltage will simply jump over all switches.
Generally insurances (and the warrenty of most protection devices) exclude direct hits. Always good to read the small print, though this might be handled different in other countries.
