Recently I had this problem with my computer which I wont describe in details. After Ive sorted it out and got a new motherboard (with an integrated soundcard) and this is what happened:
Everything that concernes Reason, Cubase, Vstis the sound is a-ok.Its even better, some clicks I had before are gone now.BUT, I cannot hear any Wavs, nor sound in Medal of Honor (ok i admit, I love playing this game online ).Im no expert in this field, just my sixth sense tells my the integrated soundcard is kidding me around !
it's probably not the soundcard itself but the installer that 'connected' the onboard sound to Windows default playback devices.
You'd have to manually choose the Pulsar's wave / direct sound drivers in the affected program's setup.
Or leave it as it is and feed the analog out of the onboard sound back into Pulsar's analog ins via cable, whichever fits best.
Sometimes it's nice to have the Pulsar devices separated from Windows to avoid the OS accidently messing something up.
it doesn't matter if the thing is called Pulsar or Luna ! It's the same procedure.
For simplicity:
plug a headphone into the output of the onboard sound and play your game.
Hear something ? Fine.
You may replace the headphones by a cable to Luna's analog-in
Or setup Windows / your game's default audio out as below.
Hear nothing ? check control panel what's Windows primary audio device (most certainly the onboard sound)
open Windows mixer and see if the channel is muted.
You may either set Luna's wave drivers as Windows default audio (generally games use that as their default too) or select the audio device in the game's setup (Luna wave / directsound / whatever) .
try it and good luck, Tom

Hallo!
You must learn zen serenity...
Since yesterday i have the same prob with pulsar and sfp 3.1c + beta wdm drivers.
Fortunly Cubase and modular works...
Seems winzoz 2k is not connected with wave source (no sound in pulsar mixer).
I've re-installed sfp and drivers but nothing...
When i'll finish my new song i'll format everything (this is the ONLY way i think).
If in the meanwhile i fix the problem i'll post something here...
Consider this:
1. it's ABSURD creamware get out a release full of bugs (graphic, audio, routing, no 24 bit ecc... ecc...) with BETA (!!!!) wdm drivers, considering the hard-soft costs.
2. at the moment modulars (1 2 3) are the ONLY plus-value of creamware's cards, without these they are a piece of c**p.

it's ABSURD you have to format a harddisk to get rid of a piece of software...
I know that this is common practice and that it's supposed to work as well - and that's exactly the proof what pile of sh*t of an OS you're relying on.
There are always 2 sides - and I haven't even noticed wdm drivers, for me they are useless, but that doesn't make me vote against them.
I understand your anger though
you got a replacement board and started from your old harddisk - or was the OS installed new from scratch after the replacement ?
Btw. which OS and mobo you're running ?
Go to sound card's properties in the control panel , click on default settings (2 devices and 2 channel), reboot, open sfp, add a wave source, reboot...now directx audio should work...
It could be a random directx bug, so if the above method doesn't work try to reinstall directx 8.1a
also, there can be conflicts w/progs that grab the wav driver and don't let go even tho you're not using that prog.if you add more wav modules in your project and they can be used, that's your prob.

hey Tom,
I got a Gigabyte motherboard with the dual bios. Its the newest model that came out and no I did not hav my OS reinstalled.I have windows 2000 professional.
I would have expected Windows to recognize the new hardware when booting the old installation with the new mobo, but obviously there's something messed up.
Looks like you have to do an installation from scratch to put all back in place.

sorry, I don't know a better way, Tom
hullo,
Tom im not sure what do you mean with Windows recognizing new hardware when booting the old installation ?? Yes I got a message about a new hardware device tho...hmmmmm
I checked the BIOS to see if the on-board soundcard is disabled and it is....

when Windows asks - you'll have to serve !
You can't ignore the 'Windows found... please insert... bla bla'
Even if you don't wanna use the devices, you'll have to provide the proper info and files or the OS may cease the service or do whatever it considers appropriate, kinda bitch
There are possibly a lot new items for the OS on the mobo, while for you it's mostly the soundcard.
I wouldn't expect the onboard sound by itself to cause any trouble (on a modern board). Those soundcards are ofter better suited to games than Pulsar.
