The dear friend I did this track with, Salvatore, sadly passed away few months ago. I was able to find the mp3 again and will repost it as a link. The effect that this track makes to me now can't be described but you can imagine...it was such a nice afternoon at his place...

I wrote when I posted it first time:
"Two guitars improvisation with synth overdubs recorded with open windows and doors at Flag Studio on Cubase 4.1 with Pulsar 1. Guitars: Ovation Elite, Takamine Classical. Mic: RodeNT2. Synths: Yamaha AN1X, Pulsar modular one. Recorded and mixed in two hours in a hot and distorted peceptional afternoon of June in Naples, Italy."

reminds me to a worldwide but not broadly known guy named Peter C. Johnson, and that's a compliment

You did integrate the electronics very tastefull!
Just a bit too mutch reverb on the guitars I would say, but hey for a two hour happening

You catched it!

I agree - a little less reverb on the main guitar line.

Alfonso, I didn’t know this song was yours… I have heard if for a couple of years already. I really… really love it. I have had it in my hard drive and had heard it wherever I go. It really is a special moment recorded in there. I can’t explain you the feelings I get, but this really is inspiration and MUSIC in the real sense of the word.

Sometimes I would do something, like writing a mail, etc., and would hear it in cycle mode for an hour or more… I’m a fan!

I like it as is, nothing to change, nothing to add, nothing to take away, it’s a perfect take. I think it is a perfect take just because it’s the heart talking and not your mind trying for it to be nice. IT’S THE FEELING ON IT.

i casually came here to see what's going on (it's years i'm not hearing stuff here) and i saw these nice reviews...
what to say...i like this thing too, it expresses well some of my deep feelings, and it's made with a very very dear friend of mine, that also owns pulsar and lives in neaples, were i come from, but i left at the age of 27, in 1988.
we recorded it at his place, after lighting a huge one...

i'm very happy you like this one, as it is very related with my inner world.

Hi! I'm Yumi, kensuguro's girlfriend.
I really like this tune! I can sort of imagine a lighthouse.. by the sea... with the ocean wind. The silluette of the dolphins are lit up by the early moon... Anyway, it's a very inspiring piece. Though it's not like I'm into composing or anything.

So you've heard from my girlfirend... I (ken) personally think it's a beautifully composed piece, with subtle nuances captured by every detail of effects, performance, and the choice of instrumetns. Heh, no wonder it's music from a guy that lives by the sea! Great work!

It's beautiful. A perfect mix of acoustic and technology and it shows how feelings can be expressed in such a short time, a short piece of music. It goes on my "mellow moods" playlist.

Yeah - at first I just wanted to bypass your song (after reading your comments on synths and guitars playing altogether) - fortunatelly I didn't.

They say a song is good (for one's opinion) if you like it after 3-6 seconds of listening to. I don't agree with it in full but this time it worked!

By the sea. You can feel it.

You have to listen to Dif Juz!!! (find a tune at http://www.4ad.com , in the audio archive section and watch their video in an appropriate section)

P.S.

1. The reverb on the guitar part is a bit too loud for me.
2. Too short!!!!

Yes very beautiful indeed! I also really like the soundquality of this track. The "Theremin"-sound is great! I actually played one the other day - weird instument.

What did you use for A/D converters on this track? Sounds great. Are the reverbs stock with plusar or are they third party?

Late reply to the last post......stock Pulsar1 converters, Salvatore just had that one.

I don't remember many other details, but a lot of the magic comes from the fact that the guitars where recorded in a common medium room, not dampened, and the window opened to catch the summer afternoon vibe.....

It's a beautiful piece of music & I can't think of a better track to remember your friend by. It'll always evoke happy memories, I'm sure.
