I am completely new on this forum, so hello fellow CW's!

I have a question concerning very hefty noise when recording ASIO in Logic 5.
My problem has evolved through different stages that have been solved, but now I am facing, what is probably my biggest concern so far.
On my machine, which is based on a ASUS VIA chipset and a Duron 900Mhz with 256MB RAM and WinXP pro, I get a terrible noise when recording wave in Logic.
I have no problems playing back synths or samples through GigaStudio even with several effects loaded, but as soon as I try to record them, I get mostly noise.
I have installed the newest 4in1 drivers for the VIA chipset (And I am perfectly aware of the problems associated with VIA), and this hasn't helped much.
Since I am a beginner in Pulsar setup, it might be a SFP setup problem.
What I have done is setting up SFP for my GigaStudio and then added an ASIO2 Dest on the main mixer console output. After this I open Logic, which instantly gives me an error saying that some creamware.ASIO.scope @backgroundservices-.dll or something isn't found. After this message no more problems appear.
I load my project and starts to record, and all I get is noise, and a little bit of music. 8 out of 10 times it even stops after just a few seconds stating that Logic has lost the Synchronization with MIDI, but still the rate at XXXXXX is recognized! Strange!..
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks in advance,
Thomas Regin.
