Ok, some of you said (in the nicest possible way), "put up or shut up". And fair enough too. So I've put up. Find my modest little drum machine called "Dogpound" here:
http://www.planetz.com/Pulsar/Devices.html
There are also 2 JPEGs, one is just the surface of the devices, the other (under "listen" - sorry no MP3), is a picture of the project I use it in for sampling.
It's not a wildly complex device, but it has some good points (such as individual FX) and I think would suit dub, trance, techno, hip hop sort of feels.
All comments welcome.
I'm hoping to follow this device up with a very smooth pad patch, but I'm still furiously writing presets to show it off.
<b>So who will be next to keep Planet Z and Pulsar strong, and donate a patch in The Great Upload Challenge ?<\b>

i am working on something now. it is a drum synth. it is called "lo-fi_b-box."
and does just what it sounds like it does
i am working on a few preset kits now.
no sequencer, just a synth - a few drum oscs, and a few sample oscs . . .
i'll let ye all know when it is done.
and i will get back with you with a review of your "dog pound"

upload challenge entry 3 is in -
I just uploaded my drum synth to the modular patch area - below is the 'brief' description. i am looking for general comments and criticism on the structure of the thing, as it is my first drum type modular creation. it is fairly simple, yet effective, and low on dsp
it is a beta, awaiting modification after ye alls commentaries (finished version will have more presets of course!).
______________
Lo-Fi B-Box Beta
this is a lo-fi drum synth, no internal sequencer. extremely dirty and crackling!
general structure is: 1 sub drum (perc osc), 2 bass drums (perc osc, sample osc), 3 snares (drum synth, 2 sample oscs), and HH, OH (mute grouped) and a ride (all sample oscs). each sound source has it's own distortion and/or bit reduction section. utilizes all 4 outputs 1>sub 2>BD's 3>SN's 4>CYM for additional processing outside of the modular [or in another modular!]. I used A LOT of the text modulars, hence the layout is pretty self explanatory. this is a beta - comments on the patch would be appreciated. this unit is designed for drum 'n bass (drill 'n bass!) jungle, hip hop, etc. but it will work for anythin when what you need is the dirtiest possible drum kit. have fun!

but don't worry, i'm in the midst of a redesign that will make these much easier to find/search/manage...

I quite liked the Lo-Fi, but since there were so many sample oscillators it really depends on what you drop into it. I haven't used sample oscillators before (I normally just use a sample!), but I do like the concept. Doing all the effects with the original Mod patch feels good, it seems to be a lot more controlled and neat than using the four outs then outboard processing.
The bit quantiser did catch my attention. I like it, very nasty and buzzy - I haven't seen this module used much. Also interesting how it effects the decay time. In fact I liked it so much I've dropped a couple into my next drum machine which I'm currently putting the final touches to. The only thing I can't figure out on my machine (still!) is how to make the auto-pan work with a drum synth. Does anyone have any ideas?
I also downloaded the Ubic. Looks a little daunting at first - so many mixers ! Some of the sounds were interesting, a lot of movement and effects, and quite dubby. But I think it suffers from a lack of presets - you need a reasonable spead so you see the full range of what it's capable of.
Of course I'm guilty of the same thing. My little DogPound drum machine only had a handful of presets, a fault I'm rectifying on the next one, it's much better!
Anyway, it's great to see a bit of activity on the modular front, and if we all keep contributing we'll all benefit.
It would be good though to hear from some of the several hundred other people who read these forums - seems most of the action comes from the "top 10" posters.
