Hello People !!!
Long time no seee...

Well.......
I have a really f*cked up problem.
Now everytime when i shut down Cubase..everything
halts....and then crashes..
I have to reeboot every time i want to work on another project.
Its really annoying!!!

In a few weeks i am supposed to work with a important band.
And i cant have theese crashes.
I have allways used Cubase VST 24 since it came...and i've never had problems with it.

My Pulsar software is v.3.0
And sometimes when it crashes i get an error message...but it displayes only for an instant then the computer reeboots.
I think it says somehing about...VXD..
Its a driver yes..but..
Has anybody else experienced problems like this ?

Please help me...im lost in the deepest shadows of the....never mind.

Please give more specific info like a complete computer spec, I can't even tell if you're on PC or Mac from your post (although I'm assuming PC). CPU speed, memory size, any other software loaded etc., as much detail as possible. It's a probably not a good time to do it with a band imminent but have you tried SFP3.1c? Also have you thought of upgrading VST to VST/32 v5.1? As I'm a Mac user I probably can't help you much but I sure others will. Best of British to you.

If it is an error with a VXD file, it comes from wiwi98.

Check if you have (at least) a win98second edition.
If not, reinstall your pc with either Win2000 service pack 3 or windows XP professional.

Those are much more stable and do not use these crappy VXD extensions that tend to crash the system every time you need reliability.

One last thing, you said you work with cubase SX in win 98 ????
SX is supposed to be used in Win2000 or XP, so that is probably the reason of these crashes.

Hope this helps.

sorry, did not read correctly about the cubase version.

But still, do not use win 98 for a DAW. These applications need a more "professional" OS in order to work properly.

Thank you all for replying =)

There is one problem for me....

I have tried Win2000 and XP and both OS gives me more problems than anything else...

I don't know why....but..i get graphics problems in both versions...and the system crashes without me doing anything.

Thats why i have always used win98....

I must be a unlucky bastard.....everything i try to improve performance ends up in totall kaos.

But i will try to install win2000 again...and this time i'll try Cubase SX....lets se what happens....

In mean time....if you people have more idea's...let me know...

=)
Sincere thanks from me Jngaelin

hi,

I've got quite an old PC (PIII/450, P2B etc) besides my Mac and had similar problems - previously the comp was equipped with a VGA 1MB graphics card and everything was ok. After uopgrading to a 64MB ATI Radeon7000 strange things started. And guess what? Memory module... So try to remove one memory module and next another etc. Perhaps this is the cause... Perhaps one module is installed not properly or is broken... Who knows

Also, you might want to download your keys and the latest version (3.1c) of the software from creamware's site.

Tho make sure you install it into it's own folder not over the top of the old one. The new driver is backwards compatible with the older software so you can run both to keep current projects intact....
