Hi
I have a Powersampler (Luna II) card which I have used succesfully for a couple of years under Win98.
I would like to move to WinXP and have created a dual boot on my audio computer with XP SP1 and 98SE.
The 98 side works fine.
On the XP side I cannot complete the driver install fully. To install the drivers I have tried the Win2K driver folder from sfp 3.1a, 3.1c and the beta wdm driver. The driver appears to load properly and under Control Panel/System/Device Manager/Sound Video and Game Controllers/Creamware DSP board/Properties it says 'This device is working properly'. However under the further Properties tag at the top of the Creamware box it says 'Driver is enabled but not functioning properly' - I click on the Settings tab and it reports 'Cannot load the Creamware Scope driver....'
I move on to load the 3.1 software anyway, it unsurprisingly reports 'Driver not present' - I carry out the instructions to re-install the driver (within the software install), the system reboots and the sfp installation (plus 3.1c) continues to completion. But the semi-faulty driver status is the same in Control Panel. No wav driver appears in Multimedia. No Sound tab exists within dxdiag. dxdiag reports the Dirtect X installation as sound.
I installed the Adaptec Aspi layer 4.71 as per Creamware site recommendations.
However, my sequencer program (Logic Audio Gold 5.3.1) works perfectly with Asio/xtc mode all active, sounds plays back fine etc. A big thanks to SiberianSun for his xtcproject file here.
The only missing feature apart from the wav drivers, which I don't really need I suppose, seems to be the Powersampler midi ports which are also reported as faulty in Control Panel/System/Device manager. They do not show up in Logic which skews all my old song midi settings. My Unitor midi interface works fine.
I have seen various 'Hardware Revision 30' and occasionally 'Hardware Revision 16' error messages.
I have carried out all the fixes and tips I can find in the manual and support database. The XP installation is in Standard PC mode, PNP OS is off in the Bios, the Creamware Card has its own dedicated IRQ (10) which is assigned to its PCI slot in the Bios settings (Motherboard is Asus TUSL-2). There are no other PCI cards in the computer, graphics is an ATI Rage AGP card.
I have tried using other PCI slots and other IRQs - no difference.
I have checked that scope.sys is present in Windows/System32/Drivers.
Sorry about the very long post, I wonder if anyone has any further suggestions for me to try.
Many thanks
Jonathan
