Now what have we here? An Autechre wannabe! Well at least it sounded a lot like Autechre to me, which I think is pretty cool.
Did you mess around with the delay-length button? hmm, very crispy....Just listening to it again....... I think this is very cool. I'll give this track more attention later tonight. I have to go now.

Never the less and doublespeed, normalspeed or halfspeed what ever - I think this track is pretty cool, also when listened too at "normal" speed. And all though it sounds less Autechre-influenced at "normal" speed, I'd still say that you are fooling around somewhere in their backyard, which is fine by me.....

nice 'un j. minimal elements, 'just' a beat . . . I wouldn't have minded there being a allusion of melody there somewhere or some pads, but whatever.
[warning, rant]: I wanted to comment on the 'autechre' conversation. Generally people relate new music that they hear with similar, more recognizable artists in that genre. This is sometimes helpful in communicating what an artist sounds like (but of course suffers the problems of generalizing). The problem is when the commentor is not well versed in the genre (I am not necessarily saying that this is the case for you, Petal). In these cases, the commentor has only heard a few artists that sound vaguely similar, yet go ahead laying the accusations if 'this sounds like X.
An example of this, relevant: I played a show this weekend, and did a pretty out-there set, even for me. Afterwards, someone said: "Those Autechre tracks you were spinning were pretty cool." I told him that the music was all original, and that the only thing spinnin' is my hard drive. The point is, he probably heard Autechre once, and is familiar with experimental music otherwise. But nonetheless, 'this sounds like Autechre' comes out . . . j9k - I'd say your track is like autechre, just as creed is like led zeppelin.
OK, done ranting. back to work.
