Here's the situation. I get my new P4 2.26GHz Computer this weekend, will install Cubase SX & have a Hammerfall 96/52 Card at present for I/O into Soundcraft 328 Desk. I have convinced myself that I MUST have a Pulsar 2!! (I can then Get Rid of my AkaiS3000XL & Roland Juno 106 & out board multi-FX you see). What's the best scenario from below? Do I....
a) get rid of Hammerfall card, because it will clash with Pulsar 2. Pulsar 2's I/O will work flwlessly Cubase SX once correctly configured?
b) Keep the Hammerfall, buy a Pulsar 2 aswell & use together on same PC, because they will not clash?
c) Keep Hammerfall & get a Pulsar XTC, since the lack of I/O will guarantee no conflicts between the two & you loose none of the abilities of pulsar 2 other than I/O?
It's all so confusing & I don't want to part with cash in exchange for major headache! Any suggestions.....anyone...please?
Will Pulsar II and Project Hammerfall 96/52 Crash if both on
Welcome audioexchanger,
difficult decision indeed. I have no machine running both cards, they run on different ones. Advantage of Hammerfall is lots of fast channels. Maybe you add information how many you'll need.
If they are not too many probably a) is best. And you could use normal AND XTC mode. Normal mode has a few advantages, like more freebies available, faster access to new devices AND: more flexibility in chaining your workflow. Have a look at the X-MAS Packs at http://www.creamware.com before you buy. Maybe you want to keep your old machine as a mixer unit?
