loaded up my Ultimate Piano programme (from EastWest, Akai), gain seems really wimpy. I'm still mastering this software, and there seems to be several different places one can affect gain.

What's the best way to set these to get the most signal out of a sample, without clipping?

also, don't quite understand the velocity modulation settings. I have my keyboard controller set up so it outputs note-on velocities over a fairly wide range (around 40 up to 127) but the gain response out of the sampler seems pretty narrow. Is there some control or setting I'm overlooking?

TIA

In the Program setting (from the first screen) there is a Master Out button that is very low by default, I've max out this one, and now it pretty loud!

All Akai programs a have play AT LEAST as loud as any other Synth in Pulsar.

Marcus got that one, I had that problem too when I first got the STS4000, there are a few places to change the loudness, Global, per Program, and per Keygroup  Remember to check each of these when you have volume problems... Once you have the global loudness up higher, I bet the Velocity "narrowness" goes away.
