Technical info on Pulsar I basic needed.....

Hi, can anyone tell me what op-amps the pulsar 1 uses for its unbalanced ins and outs?

Also can anyone post a picture of the pulsar I PLUS, closeup near to the outputs, (both sides of the card)

I have a Pulsar 1, and I don't know, wich OP amps it uses, but... The Pulsar 1 ins and outs are noisy. I bought a T.C.Electronic compressor mainly because of its digital out.

Actually in my setup, the pulsar2 analog I/O is noisier than the pulsar1! Only use them for monitoring anyway so it's no big deal.

i think noisy is relative.what is unacceptable to many is still better than much of the pro gear from even 5 years ago.one would think no good recordings could have ever been made with that ridiculous noise level.

in fact,many of the records that are thought of as masterpieces are quite noisy by today's standards and are yet quite listenable,sometimes more so than current examples.

i suspect that many people's home wiring is poor by studio(audio) standards, and that many computer cases and power supplies are not really grounded or shielded properly for audio.the pulsar card does not seem overly noisy to me,i have many more pressing noise issues in the studio............

My noise floor is about 59dB below clipping level. I have tried with various devices. I guess, I have learned to live with the fact, that I must spend extra money for an external A/D :/

noise comes from a LOT of places.my pulsar1 is certainly quieter than that! the method described is not a good way to measure.

Opamps used are ne5532/5534 type (pulsar1+). This may not be the most recent types, but a noise floor of 59dB is strange. Sure you do not have a groundloop? What is connected to the board? Just record some silence and put it through a spectrum analyser like in CEP and look if you do not have a few serious peaks somewhere.

I am sorry. I overlooked the PLUS (with capitals even). My Pulsar1 is an unballanced "classic" or standard version.
