he Noah has limited dsp and there isn't a big advantage to higher samplerates, so....
high sample rates are a way to improve bad filter coding.
high samplerates are for those with unlimited budget and those without skill who want to brag. there is a reason that cds were 44.1k, which was always more than good enough for any commercial production.
if resources(hardware and budget) are not severly limited, then high samplerates are a great way to use more. not one project was bad sounding because of the samplerate being below 96k and not one project was ever saved just by being 96k.
of course, in a bad room with low grade equipment and mediocre engineers high samplerates will sound better IN THE ORIGINAL STUDIO, but there isn't so much gain in the final product, especially after downsampling, with all the damage that downsampling must bring.
it is just as effective to oversample the filter. most of the better synths like Profit/ProTone and Noah have oversampled filters.
i'm certainly NOT telling anyone what to use or what to like, i'm just expressing the other side of things.
Noah WinXP Control Panel
Re: Noah WinXP Control Panel
Agreed Gary .
And I'm not fussed about using Noah in a 48k project via the Analog outs back in to ,say an A16 , I'll work with whatever sound I have , been working in pro studios since 1972 . And now of course the irony ...much of today's finished audio "product" ends up being listened to in earbuds anyway ,what a fuckn joke
Cheers , Michael
