Hello,

I'm planning to buy a Pulsar XTC card, but I'm not sure yet, because I have one 'open issue'.

Is there any way to create VSTi instruments for the 'free devices' you can download?
Or are these just unusable on the XTC.

Groeten,
Dominik.

Those are not usable as XTC....
Nothing you can do about it, except if developer of those devices decide to port them to XTC....

I was afraid of that.
Are a lot of developers converting their devices, because I was looking around a bit... none of these people mention anything about XTC compatibility, or mention it won't work on an XTC card.

Actually even Creamware doesn't warn you about this incompatibility on their site.

My problem is that I haven't got the budget to buy a pulsar. But someone is willing to sell me a new Pulsar XTC for about 500 Euro (=$). Just wondering if it's worth it?

This Synth works in XTC:
(not a big deal to convert devices for xtc in most cases)

I think XTC / VSTi mode is the weakest part of the entire platform

and it's really kind of pointless anyway, since the normal mode is more flexable and can accomplish anything one would want to use vsts for anyway.(an xtc card would need an i/o daughter card of course)

I don´t use the XTC-Mode because I need the STM-Mixers for latency-free routing and mixing. (I gave my mackie away)
But:
I tryed xtc with sx and xp-home some weeks ago. The latency was playable (about 10ms)without using direct play-mode.....
