to explain better:
1)a matrix seq module, similar to the drum seq module but with independent midi note for every output.

2)outputs and imputs in the modular frame for all the kinds of signals available inside the modular (freq., gate etc.) to send for example modulation signals or envelopes or pitch modulation to other patches.

these are the most important of what i need...

hmmm, i think this thread is getting a bit large to navigate....

maybe i'll make a *cont* thread.

not now.

but...

thanks for clearing up 2 of your ideas alfonso.

notes..

1. i think this idea was noted allready (4-2).

basically you are just stating that as it is, the MDS (others?) only output one note for each midi out and that there should be the ability to set the note outputed by each track, correct?

2. hmm, this idea is sort of in a similar vein as the Modulation -> Cc convertor module reccomendation.

this would make the modular patches in and of themselves act as modules, which touches base with my Macro (grouping modules into one small container module) idea....great!

now if we could just do this within a mod patch itself. this touches base on your idea for the ability to have a mod patch being able to load patches inside of it. i think (i didn't really get it before)?

is this what you were thinking with this 3rd idea (patches being able to be loaded inside patches -nesting-)?

if so this would be uber cool, but may be a bit fiddly, and hard to find a good use for.

patches would need to look like modules when loaded inside a patch, and as you suggest, have all manner of i/o. maybe even multiple i/o.

hmm, great idea!

i'll update the list.

oh, btw....Spirit made a suggestion of being able to easily navigate and program the sequencers. now, this only is true on the MDS (the other should have a similar function, yet they don't, i don't think). but you can arrow (up, down, left, right) around the grid and use yer space bar to turn on, ON, off for each step. super quick programing. funny how this isn't mentioned in the manual....i just sort of stumbled upon this behaviour. like a lot of features.

i recently started finding a tremendous amount of use for incrementing via arrow left/right and setting precise values via the numerical keys.

i remember reading about these, however.

best.

Sorry to dig this old thread up, but did anyone end up sending this wishlist to CW? I was particularly interested in MarlinSpike's suggestion of a graphical interface for drawing waveforms and LFO profiles etc. It amazes me that even though we are now free of the tiny LCD/LED screens of HW synths, we are still being presented with on-screen emulations of buttons and knobs! Carrying on from my recent ramblings about the Fairlight, even the CMI was making excellent use of all that screen space back in 1980! What happened guys?
