Hi all,

Since this morning I'm having trouble using my reason (redrum) with cubase. I get an audio signal but when I create a midi part in cubase to program the drum line reason doesn't seem to get any signal anymore.

This worked fine until this morning and I haven't changed anything to my setup???

Any ideas, thx in advance ...

Hi. I don´t know if this is the cause of your problem, but there is a problem declared with REWIRE, between CUBASE an REASON that is solved with a patch (read carefully the instructions) that come with REASON. If you don´t have it, you can check it in the steinberg page.

Maybe that´s the problem...

- The patch is to limit the amount of audio channels for Reason in Cubase: standard you get max 64, the patch reduces to max 16.
- Valium, can you still select Reasons' midi channels in Cubase?

Hi there,

Yeah I heard about that patch before and I even tried it but didn't make the problem dissapear.

To at0mic,

Yes I can still select the channels from both rebirth and reason in cubase but only one of em will work at the same time ...

"Yes I can still select the channels from both rebirth and reason in cubase "

You can't run both programs at the same time.
Only one rewire connection at the same time.

Could this be the problem?

I open Cubase, Reason and Rebirth sequentially? They run perfect together.

What can cause a problem, is the installation order of Reason and Rebirth. It's good to know Rebirth uses Rewire(1) protocol, whole Reason uses Rewire2. Rewire2 includes midi channels.
Now if you install Rebirth after Reason, you'll screw up the Rewire installation on your computer. Then I run Reason update again, to reset Rewire to Rewire2, which is backward compatible w Rewire(1).
