Hello All:

Platform:
Dell Precision 330 - 1.5Ghz - 512MB RAM - Matrox G450 dual Video card -SCSI
Ultra wide card.
Sequencer: Cuebase 5 & Nuendo

Problem Description:
I am running windows XP in Standard PC Mode with the ASPI 4.71 installed and properly checked out by aspichk.exe. However, I still cannot install (as mentioned in
readme file) the SFP. The manual installation of the driver goes well
however, upon restarting the machine and running setup.exe to install the
software it just never happens. Moreover, when I turn off plug and play device manager goes blank and the hardware setup in control panel does not run (like SFP) as they are dependencies on the plug and play service
I have downloaded the software three times for possible file checksum and CRC errors.
Additionally, in the ASIO Multimedia Setup, although all devices of the
CreamWare Play/Rec are listed (both output and input) only two are successful when checking the buffer size and sync.
3 through 8 gives the following error message: "Errorcode: FF8-5-000C"
Info: "Device could not be opened."

I have change the Globl Settings, manually increase/decrease buffer size
along with making sure (in Creamware Pulsar Properties)that there are 8
devices and 16 channels are listed in the device manager for creamware
properties.

Also, I need to ahieve the use of Dual Screen

I am spending so much time figuring out things as opposed to composing and creating music. There must have some guide that
shows a novice like me how to connect and achieve positive results as
opposed to someone who has a sound engineering background and can easily
and virtually replace outboard hardware with software devices.

I look forward to your response on this matter and to having much anticipated fun within the Pulsar environment.

Sincerely,
BJCam

Hi,

*** Dualhead: Screen properties, Settings, Click on Snd monitor, Activate 'Different Resolutions Dualhead' and reboot upon demand of OS.

*** Install problems:
-check [url=http://www.blkviper.com/WinXP/service411.htm]this site[url] for required Services. P'n'P and Application Management are best set to respectively 'Auto' and 'Manual'.
-Copy your installation folder to a directory 'SFP_install' or so, in the root folder of a drive. Don't make folder name too complicated.

*** ASIO Multimedia Setup: although your devices are (or not) loaded, it shows the amount of devices shown in Dev Mgr ->Pulsar ->Properties, for both midi and audio. Also programs will see these.

*** For midi play, load the amount of drivers as shown in Dev Mgr. You can change the amount of midi/wav drivers, but you need to load as assigned in Dev Mgr.

*** You cannot edit the 'empty' XTCproject from your sequencer, but you have to make a template project in SFP. C:SFPAppXTCAppXTCProject.pro. Make backup before you change it.

I hope this will get you started. If not, come back. And have a look in the manual or readme, there's plenty to discover...

Yes
Your software wil not be able to test additional ASIO or Wav,unless they are loaded in SFP project. To do that right click ASIO(gives you option to load more ASIO channels)and for Creamware play(wave driver)simply drag and drop from software devices.
