I need help to know what type of digital cable is used to connect to the Luna 11 digital input/output. The other unit, a Zoom MRS 1044 I am trying to connect has a different type of jack from the Luna.

You will probably need to get a special cable made up. I got one made by van damme cables here in UK.

Basically the cable is like a minijack -> stereo phono like the type you use to connect a walkman to your stereo.

/---phono red > efx IN
luna < minijack -----|
---phono white > efx OUT

However, for a digital signal, you should request a 75ohm (i think 75 but check) cable suitable for digital signals. This will prevent the digital clicks you may get on a standard audio type

I've got to say, that really p***ed me off ! Surely they could have used a normal co-axial or optical socket ? But no ! I had to spend £20-odd on a wretched 'special cable'.

Is this a problem with all countries, or is Germany littered with these strange cables ?

The cable is $2.99 at all Guitar Centers in the USA (at least one in most cities). It doesn't have to be anything spectacular (having one built, and 75ohm blah blah seems a bit overkill IMHO), that short Hosa works perfect and passes digital data bit-for-bit accurate. Also you can get a MonsterCable version of this as well for about $15 at most CircuitCity type stores...
