I didn't find an improvement Scope wish thread (yet, I thought there was one... :-? ), since now updates seem to come a bit more often (!), so I add a wish here...

It would be nice if on the project window, user could copy/paste or duplicate devices just like in modular thanks to usual keyboard shortcuts.. And even between insert rack slots !

I just wanted to warn peeps for saving your project with an sts sampler in it.
My project file wont open anymore because of errors loading sts sampler.
I used it because it can still record in 64x windows 7,
but i accidentally saved it, and now it doesn't continue loading after an error loading sts.

So be warned :P

Cheers for the new update!
I DO hope for a sampler in the future. This system is incomplete without it.
Also still dsp overload messages at low dsp levels..

I've been waiting very patiently for the next update, can anyone shed any light on this or the stage of it development.

PS. Don't give me any grief about asking the question, please. If someone has any information, it will be much obliged. Thank you

ready when it's ready.
there is no huge crew of folks coding. it's a big job and it takes a long time and costs a bunch of money.

nobody knows when it will be ready until it is ready. i can tell you that work has and is being done.

Hi
Having purchased it when it came out, I'm finally getting round to installing Scope v7. I've had a stable working 5.1 and a lot of music projects over the past couple of years so I've been leaving things as they were until now.
I've backed up my old 5.1 folder - I assume this is C:\Program Files\Scope PCI?
Should I uninstall 5.1 then install 7 into this folder? Or install over the top without uninstalling?
Then restore any projects/devices from the backup folder?
I'm on Win7Pro still.
Excuse the simplistic questions! I am a bit rusty on all this.
Thanks and what a great platform Scope/Sonic Core is.

Backup existing, install over the top (of 5/5.1) is ideal imho to avoid hassles with getting devices going again. Then refer to here for bugs (there are 1-2 dsp files you may have to put back from your backup, depending on what you use and which bugs you can live with).

Hmmm not so easy
The installation was successful using the latest download scope_v7.0.1706_x64_pci_english.exe
When I run it (as administrator) the registration window appears
The release notes say use the v5 keyfile
I import this to the appropriate card (of the three) - it says import succeed
press OK
It says Installation Error or Invalid Activation Key (E0001A)

Aha
Fixed
Import the v5 keyfile
Then paste the new v7 keyfile text Gary sent me
And there it is with my startup project loaded and all my synths etc. looking intact
Looking very pretty

hi, peeps!
just a quick check on scope 7 after some years have passed. let me know if these conditions are still true (for x64 version):
xtc doesn't work;
vdat doesn't work;
88KHz samplerate is not there still;
wave inputs give garbage;

thanks!!

While understanding your frustration, rest assured, when the new update does come out it will be the talk of the town here so there is really no need for folks to keep asking those kinds of questions and pointing out the few things that currently don't work on Scope 7
Cheers friend :)

I use the wav inputs for video wotk (Corel video program).
Work fine although I did have to experiment a bit to find the right one.

Asio for SAW.

thanks for your input!
well, i'm still on scope 5 where xtc and vdat do work, but asio requires wet nursing (setting software priorities and affinities to avoid clicks) but it is usable in many older programs.
for 88K, wider asio support and wdm audio i/o i use other cards.
scope 7 should have more solid asio but in exchange no xtc and vdat (second next important thing for me after sfp router).

now, to get back to 1998 level of coolness scope could add support for dsd and pcm samplerates up to some 400K! For that to work, there could be a release of new zlink converter system like a16 back in the day (as single bnc type of link doesn't cut it).
actually i don't know of any multichannel hi rez audio interfaces... all industry would switch to scope if that happened!

i see a stagnation in audio nowadays, except maybe audio over ethernet which is more relevant for venues and large installations. consumer devices in presence of hi-rez fluff have outran pro equipment; audio vst business is more about painting old shit with new colours - that is concentrated on GUI design and mostly releasing some forgotten junk emulations (which doesn't sound like it anyway) or catching up what scope had to offer in early 2000s...

all that said i'm very xcited to have went through birth of CW Pulsar / Scope and Steinberg vst, all these virtual modular programs like NI Reaktor - it was something new, never seen...
