help me explain this ADAT effect

I'm using an A16Ultra with my scope 15+6 system.
The connection is ADAT. Usually my scope is slave to the A16.
Sometimes all inputs give ugly crackles. They dissappear when I cut those ADATs, which provide signal from scope to A16.
(All ADATs from A16 to scope are perfect now.)
As soon as I reconnect them, the crackles return.

Today I had the idea to disconnect the wires not physical, but in the routing window.
The effect was the same, but the crackles didn't return when reconnecting the wires.
So I suppose this is some SW-issue.

Can someone explain what's going on ?

this is not a typical software bug. it is something that your machine seems to be doing...

Hello,
This effect is produces when digital devices is out of sync clock.
Normally, shutdown the A16 and power up, Scope and A16 become in sync.
Other method is change scope system to master, in settings>samplerate window and then slave, this is a simple method to both system become in sync and not produce clicks and other artifacs, anymore.
I have two ADA8000 with a Pulsar 1 and Scope, the ADATS connections is in the Pulsar face and a wordclock send from syncmaster plate attached in Pulsar 1 connector to both ADAs, sometimes I suffer from out onf sync effect in one ADA, but then power down it and power up and the problem is solved.

I'll try to exchange my Adat cables first.
But as roberflash wrote, I also have the feeling that the sequence of powering up the devices doesn matter.
