what's the best way VST-linking (SX) PulsarII with another D

hi folks,

1.cubase SX just arrived and i'm thinking about connecting my 2 PCs via SystemLink -
i got
Pulsar2(3.1a)@Win2000Pro/Cubase SX and
Terratec DMX6fire,EWX24/96@windows2000Pro/SX
(both with D I/O SP/DIF + DMX6fire coaxial out)

2.another question:
what exacly is a real reason to update to 3.1? ...because otherwise i'll gonna reinstall 3.01 - seems 2 b more stable...

what changes appear using XTC-mode??
or is it not recommendable at all???
