Hi
got Cubase SX and SFP 3.1a with Windows XP, everything is fine but when im trying to import audio from a cd in SX my whole system freez..

And I have installed the latest ASPI layers (4.70) from Adaptec (You had to, to install the Sfp 3.1 !) , i think it has to do something with that!

any ideas?

Similar problem here.

My system doesn't freeze when inserting a CD but the GUI of Pulsar stops working, although the functionality of Pulsar is
still active.
i.e. I can't open the pulsar surface anymore and have to close pulsar with right-click on the task bar.

I already turned off CD auto notification as far as possible in WinXP.

Eurocide - you using SX, too? I'm not getting this with Logic/3.1a .. but I am only running ASPI 3.6 at the moment. Do either of you run SCSI, or any background programs like NortonAV etc?

Yes, I also use Cubase SX 1.01.
Every mass data storage is done via IDE in my system. So no ASPI is necessary.
But the problem occurs also when SX is closed. So it may be a feature concerning Win XP.
I tried a LOT of tweaks, but none of them seems to work.

Eurocide - if you do not have ASPI installed, then that is definitely a problem. I have IDE too and experienced issues reading CDs in XP, also older pre-XP versions of Nero will absolutely mess up your CD access. Check those 2 things.

subhuman,

you are right again!
After installing the latest ASPI layers everything works fine.
