Yes, I have a lot to learn. Give me another 10 to 15 years :D

I was away from music for at least 10 years...

Sorry,

I don't mean to argue with you because obviously you know what you're doing. But I think it sounds about right the way it's hooked up now :D

Yes,

All the tips are very welcome :)

But I have the choice of how I want to use Scope

This won't be played on the radio. I will be redoing all my 15-20 year old songs the 'proper' way. Anything that I have now will sound better than what I had back then. Hmm, SoudBastard? Wasn't the best...

sure.
i don't think it's a Scope issue, though.

Scope HAS issues. I've been using it more and there are some major bugs...

But I will post that somewhere else, this was all about that base ahahahaha

all software has bugs.
if you can pinpoint what you did, you can usually eliminate the source of trouble.

Yes, I understand that software has bugs.

I used to write a lot of messy code just to fix other people's mess. So it ended up being even a bigger mess...

It had to do with projects getting corrupted, but someone just said to create a backup. Which is a quick fix/workaround. I can live with that.

Thanks,

Yes, I am not sure what happened.

I think this is probably the first time in a very long time. Not a big deal really. Why are there updates for linux each week? Probably because it's full of bugs...

just happened to finish the rack for some vintage modules
here's my p-bass recorded dry, I like the slow part, the rest is just doodling, but great dirty tone when pulling it hard
yours has a set of p-pickups as well and the same arrangement on the headstock
so it will sound somewhat p-like anyway :D

cheers, Tom

in fact it is a different one - but also got a special story... see below :D
unfortunately my left hand's tendon problems (from climbing) have increased
couldn't play the fat 57neck anymore and sold it - heartbreaking, I truely loved that bass :(
the neck of the bass from the sound example is extremely slim for a p-bass and still playable

thanks Tom :)
to be honest, I really like this specific sound - and guess what:
found it by building a bass with everything I wanted to get rid off to sell it
but I never had those strings combined with that pickup and neck and made a check for pure curiosity - wow :o

most important thing: string tension must fit the specific neck/body combination (you can only find out by ear/trying)
string quality and material is crucial
here it's flatwound strings by Thomastik (JF344) 100 gauge, low tension, very 'wooden' tone
at least one third of this sound is only due to these strings
it'a an expensive brand ... but who cares ? flats keep their shape for ages, those are at least 4 years old
if you're after a more brilliant or typical slap bass sound... it's probably about 4 sets per year ;)

cheers, Tom

Yeah, I'm gonna need to switch the strings on this one. They look a bit corroded.

Here's my 1st attempt. Remember, i haven't played a guitar in a long time and all I ever really did play was chords. Timing way off and the bass is out of tune :( First DI no FX and preamp gain on 0. Then going thru the bx_bassdude I am demoing.

Don't make fun of me

Exactly, it probably sounds a lot more like a bass than a bass played on a keyboard

Been there, done that. If you want a guitar sound, just learn a few chords...
