Kontakt Komplete & Ultimate 10 1/2 Price

Post by ronnie »

Until 6/30. Get 50% off KOMPLETE 10 or KOMPLETE 10 ULTIMATE crossgrades if you have existing qualifying product like Kontakt 5 or when you buy any KOMPLETE KONTROL S-Series keyboard or when you buy any MASCHINE production system.

I'm not trying to start another native vs. DSP debate. I've been a long time Kontakt user and if you have been too this might be something to look into. The controllers while pricey, look interesting but I have no experience with them.

If I can spare $199 by the deadline I'll prolly go for it.

This is a 150% worth price!

Komplete is one of the best packages ever created in the history of music creation, or perhaps even the very best of them all, period! Not recognizing NI efforts and genius in these packages would be really egoist and bad from us.

You can do so much with it, how could you complain? I could pay $5.000 for this package and still feel great about it ... seriously

The non-ultimate upgrade is only $99. That is a price I can not resist considering a couple of the new modules look like something I would be interested in for what I'm doing right now. The rest is Meh.

having komplete 8 i'm very tempted to upgrade to K10 ultimate.
far more stuff than i will EVER use, i know.
i'm very interested in the kontakt libraries. the synths and fxs does not interest me so much. but the libraries... damage, rise and hit, action strings, action strikes evolve... :D

I just upgraded my Kontakt 5 to Komplete for $199. I think it's a great value. I really don't think I would ever use all the stuff in Ultimate even if I could afford it. I have many Kontakt libraries from the past, and others more recent from, NI and third-parties. The Scarbee bass series is pretty fantastic and if you want to program every little hammer on and off, buzzes and slides, etc, it's the most convincing bass I ever heard. Guitar rig is also really very nice but they're all resource hungry so make sure your CPU and RAM can handle it or else be prepared for rude surprises! The organs are particulary nice and easy to tweak via MIDI and better put through outboard effects as the leslie is adequate to good but I find the tube drive easily distorts but putting it through the SpaceX mixer or Black Boxes is much better. I don't find the NI Hammond to be any more advantageous than the B-3000 (sound-wise and especially resource-wise) and apparently less preferred than the GSI VB3, especially now that it's available in 64bit. The GSI VB3 is on my short list.

I can't seem to get any gain out of the VB3 without severe distortion and clipping at volumes similar to my other native synths. I'm going to research it a little.

[edit] Doh! When I pressed down on my expression pedal the swell slider moved up (without even mapping it to the CC, really nice feature, I think - of course you can remap it). I also put it thru a compressor which fixed the distortion problem. Sometimes keyboards are a bitch like that for chords and need eq and compression to clean them up. The VB3 definitely falls into that category with many patches. First impression is that the VB3 sounds more like a real Hammond.
