Looks like it could be a pretty handy device for some of us: http://createdigitalmusic.com/2015/01/b ... -way-want/

I've used Bome's Midi Translator before and I was pretty impressed.

I use Bome's a lot on both Mac & Win platforms, excited for this. Curious what protocols the Ethernet side will support: OSC, RTP and DMX from one box in response to one input might be very interesting.

I had a bit of a dig about what it can do yesterday and I think currently the ethernet ports are for power and daisychaining multiple bomboxes for now. The device will be firmware-upgradeable though, so plenty of possibilities for the future.

They're also planning MMA-HD support, as and when that appears (probably 2030, based on the timeline so far!) and OSC is a high priority too.

Supposedly there was a working demo at NAMM and it is due out in "Spring", so hopefully not too long to wait.

MMaybe this will make the iConnect developers throw in some more features and improve the usability of the iConnectMIDI4+ series. It works, and does what it does (including RTP over ethernet!), but there are so many available connections, it can be a real bitch to get it all setup. And if you need to make any changes, as when happens in a portable rig that connects to lots of other gear instead of a static studio...it takes time to figure it all out.
Adding some scripting, program changes, etc (without the need for a computer to upload a new profile) would all be welcomed.
