Re: 50% off emulator pro
Thanks! This prices it in the "worth a try" category now.
Re: 50% off emulator pro
Interesting, especially the interface with real-elements-feedback taken from the DAW, but honestly I have not so clear the price of that product.
So I wonder if the price is once-for-ever price or an annual subscription fee?
Because when I check out the and I apply the coupon, the cart says "50% off, now 45.50$ yearly"!!!!
That's not good for me.

Re: 50% off emulator pro
Yuck. The normal $99 price usually says "Lifetime License".
Re: 50% off emulator pro
it's misleading...can't be allowed, at least not here, and I don't think the US either.
Re: 50% off emulator pro
I contacted the company, and they said:
Emulator PRO works offline, but it does need an internet connection to activate. Once it's activated you can disconnect from the internet.
Emulator PRO does still require that your network card is enabled in the Device Manager however. If you are using an external network card (the removable USB type), you will need to keep that plugged into your machine.
The yearly subscription means your license is active for 1 year, and you would have to renew after the 1 year.
I hope this answers your question. If you have any other questions, I'm always here to help.

Re: 50% off emulator pro
Kinda sketchy bait & switch license to pay 1/2 price. And using a network card for license authentication?
I guess I will keep waiting for GestureSpark from Planetz's own Wouter.

Re: 50% off emulator pro
Their idea is a winner: touch for all devices, iOS, Windows and Mac + the possibility of overlay (with transparency) the controls over your DAW/synth, so you can see both mixed in the same screen.
I just bought and downloaded the installer, and consequently bought a 24" touch screen.
I will write here a quick review ASAP.
Their hardware controller for DJ is also impressive!

Re: 50% off emulator pro
I haven't seen anything for iOS or MAC from smithson & martin. I think Lemur wins there (and now that Lemur has ported to Android, I would guess Windows is next (since it already supports touch screens) followed by Mac when they decide to add support).
But I agree about the overlay...it's a neat feature to allow waveforms and such to be visible.
Please do let us know how well it works. I have a touch screen waiting for more complete integration! (Portable 15.6" HD touchscreen, GeChic On-Lap 1502i)

Ah, yes, sorry:
My fault... this is because I work with Windows and basically I do not care OSXEmulator PRO for OSX is only available with Emulator ELITE.

Re: 50% off emulator pro
Well I spent my WE, among other things, on Emulator Pro 1.4.9B: I bought quickly, last Friday, an Hanns-G AT231 23”touch screen (very good indeed, for the price!) and installed it to my DAW (windows7 pro, i7, 16GB ram, SSD).
The install and registration was flawless.
The overall idea of a touch controller in overlay of the program with “transparent holes” is the main point, the missing idea: very clever, very promising.
I first opened the only patch available, the NI Traktor, just to see a final result. I don’t own Traktor but I had chance to explore the program at first sight, and touch around.
Then I tried to build a patch new from scratch for a modular patch. Very funny to tweak and it invites to explore new sounds. Much better than my Novation Automap or all the touch midi apps for my iPad: same screen, a big screen, no need to change your point of view. Pretty intuitive.
My first impression is a very good and contemporary design, minimal but in line with the needs.
Maybe the product suffers a little of his youth, but I think it’s normal. It's usable and stable.
Actually, I personally remain doubtful about the fact that they planned to abandon the windows 7 compatibility with the 1.50 version, because currently, a huge part of computer musicians are still on 7 (if not even on XP!). It seems that everybody are waiting for the next Windows 10 before take the leap.
But I’m conscious that maybe the choice is technical, because Windows 8 is a far better and mature platform for a touch screen control, than Windows 7.
And personally I never liked the subscription policy for a software, like i.e. for Adobe CC, but that is.
In few words: it worth. Thumbs up!
ps. a very good and friendly customer care. One of the best I ever called.

Re: 50% off emulator pro
addendum: another immersion into Emulator this evening... fantastic! you simply forget that is a "software" synth... just your midi keyboard an a big panel to explore new sounds
never can go back after this.

Let us not forget they were the sampling kings.
When I first started driving 100s of miles on my day off to trade 1MB FDDs with guys in the Bay Area, I was a feverish addict.
I know their stuff is still worthy.
Check for Fairlight Moods, a sample that today would still be a killer Pad.
