Yesterday was my first visit in a few weeks so I wasn't sure if the site had been down a long while or not. It appears to still be down today. Hope it's not a seriouse problem!dante wrote:It was working a couple of days ago - cant get onto it now.

Joel's been very busy.
Maybe he's scrubbing out the spam.

Joel shut it down.
No one came forward to take command of the site / server.
So, until someone contacts Joel, and offers to take the site off his hands, then it is down.

It would be nice if any devices there were captured on the Z before its all gone.

What Joel is doing now is of great service to people wounded in combat.
I think he found his calling, and maybe the devices we had that were .org only could be shared here, like the DAS Mixers which were some pretty heavy designs.
6 AUX, 6 BUS 32 stereo..............Chinga.

I hope someone contacts Joel and take over the XITED.org forum duties to keep it alive. Wish I was capable ATM. Hate to see it go, it has too many years of history now.

Death is also part of history, and it will be in a given moment part of our own history too. This is the natural flow of everything.

You need more than to contact Joel. You need an agenda. XITED existed when a new awesome hardware was released, so based on a new development, which is no longer new.Sounddesigner wrote:I hope someone contacts Joel and take over the XITED.org forum duties to keep it alive. If we divided overall Scope enthusiasm into 2 camps -
1) Diehards who will use thier hardware 'as is' until it burns out
2) Those that need something 'new' every couple of years - a new version of the hardware or software, or at least new developers coming on board, to have any interest.
The difference? If Scope becomes a legacy platform (manufacturing of hardware/software ceased), there will still be the diehards and a need for a forum - just like those old Atari computer forums still chugging along.
But, to try to resurrect XITED without a workable mission statement taking all this into account could very well see surfers coming in, seeing nothing going on and leaving again.
Me, Im a diehard, so try to look for discussion worthy topics irrespective of 'new' things being made. So thats the type of forum I would join - one not based on external factors we have no control over.

But that doesn't mean we don't try to live or help something live. We eat, breath air, drink water, pay for shelter, own guns, prosecute criminals, go to hospitals, etc cause we try to live. Survival is one of the main goals in life and many of us even practice religion partly to survive beyond this life. Usually life is preferred unless good reason exist for death. Often even when something or someone dies there is something from them that lives on (like elements of a great empire's legal system, offspring of people, etc).
Simply put, beautiful thoughts, both, coexistent truths of human nature.
