Softtube

Post by Bud Weiser »

Does Softtube still develop for SCOPE platform ?

Since they appeared in the Phead Reason platform now, I just found this ...

Would be great to have tat for XITE too.

Nothing for Scope since the Dynatube series.

The Softube/Marshall partnership has been going for several years since Marshall included Softube emulations of 11 of thier rigs into one model.

Softube have had Reason plugs since introduction of Rack Extensions, and now thier algos are destined to end up in the new line of flagship Reason Guitar combos slated to make the Line 6 stuff redundant.

Write to Softube and let them know!
I think the coding itself was done by creamware back in the days, so they probably won't/can't do that on their own...

its all c code so with the sdkgui that should be able to port there code to use sync and async from the sdk so that audio is passed to the dsp,s and the native stuff done on the pc

i thought softtube did there own coding it was spl that creamware did all the coding for

but i dont think that they will port for the scope cards just not enough people to make it profitable for them

as native has a much bigger audience and you dont need special dsp cards to run them

Love the JM Dynatube but its pissing me off that the project doesn't retain the knob settings of preamp and master vol between sessions, and saving preset seems to be disabled ?

Anyone know a workaround 4 this ?

Try dropping it into something that gives it MIDI. Since doing that makes SCOPE aware of the knobs to assign them to MIDI, it might also make it aware enough to save in a project.

(to make it MIDI capable, use it as an insert in a MIDI mixer, or multi-effect rack, etc)

I tried with the Multi FX M but it didn't work.
Where to get the DAS FX rack by the way? Didn't find it on their site.

Just tested here and all settings are storable as a preset.

Preset ok here but when you play 10 guitares or when there is a live bug preset are boring
I didn't find a solution for simple workflow with dynatube
I use it with the factory preset with a guitar preamp or i use the live ableton softube

I hope all of that change one day....

Haven't tried it yet. I was looking for something smaller that had a stereo input where left and right could feed a Dynatube each then output them combined to a single stereo output.

That's cause my Digitech Valve FX guitar processor outputs in stereo say chorus or pingpong delay FX that I might choose to record with (rather than record dry and try to replicate in Scope on playback).

Would be great to have an easy one touch solution for the stereo Dynatube requirement. It's a shame they didn't make a stereo version to begin with since many guitar processors have stereo effects.
