Maybe I should create a new thread to ask but I'd like to know the benefit of using w8 ?
Do you have a touch screen ? What is new in w8 exept touch screen ? One's, I tried w8 on a normal pc (no touch screen), I had to go on internet for understanding how to close an application : the upper right cross is not there anymore !
Is it now impossible to buy a w7 new pc ?

How many time must you clean your hands when you've got a touch screen to keep it just about clean ?

I do a new thread cause I want to understand and see if I get convince and update to w8.. Sorry to disturb...

Update: reinstalling from the OEM win8 DVD didn't fix the issue, maybe because it wasn't one of those installs from reformatting, rather installing over the top of itself. Either that or it's th build date of May 2014 which means the offending security update is now incorporated.

I now contemplate my next move, whether to do like Mr Arkadin says and just use other EQ for a while - the fact that C350L still works makes this option more palatable.

Or I may install from last years Win8 Pro DVD.

And now might be the time to check w/ DAS, although I was hoping to get the system working in the same scenario as Fidox - ( eg fault more or less isolated to the win8 update) first.
