New messages Bumming Me as have rehearsals in 5 days.

Post by dawman »

ANy idea wassup?
I opened the rack, but has been working all day, then saw these messages
and unplugged everything, replugged in it, re connected the PCI-e 1X
Connector card, re installed Scope.

I am thinking a new Scope PSU perhaps...?

Have you got a redundancy rig w/ the old cards just in case ?

If you do, also try the xite on that.

Get spare rig setup first, then worry bout Xite - that might reduce the stress level.

Her's the latest error message which is tripping me out as I am using an invalidated version of W7 After re installing 7 6 weeks back they are trying to extract more cash as the serial number on the !u rubbed off, so I ain't paying this ongoing criminal enterprise any more money, if I do I will just get 8 instead of paying twice for 7. But I doubt this is a problem as I have used it in this way where it asks for activation for a while now but still does the basic functions like audio, but has an ugly black screen unless I change it all the time, eye candy is what they take from us I believe.

What is also odd is that before, everything would load up, and then the access to hardware after foment schlieben whatever the germen written message read, would should up then say hardware not able to connect.
Now it goes right to hardware 30 message immediately.

I would love to get an HDMI cable with the right or left angle to avoid the 90 degree bend I have been forced to use due to packing both side of my ATA Case with 1U and 3U units. But all I am seeing is HDMI w/o the PCI-e adapter..... :-?

No other box to try it with, older PCI card mobo w/o PCI-e......arrgghhh... :(

The thought of being forced to use native fx and synths will force me to play solo Piano, I am not using that weak shit. Scope or nothing but hardware, I don't care if I have to lug a Leslie again, I can't go back to Native solutions......that's like going from Jessica Biel to Jeanine Garafolo.

I'm not a huge specialist but I think you MUST try with another PC (or with another xite ...) to determine if the problem is the PC or Xite.

I´ve seen that message too ...
And several others more ...

At least, it was all BS and disconnecting the HDMI cable from PCIe card, re-seating the PCIe card and re-connecting the HDMI cable on both sides,- computer and XITE-1,- did the trick for me.

I doubt your computer or OS has anything to do with thes messages and malfuctions, I´m pretty sure it´s the cable or the PCIe card if you tried all the dis- and re-connectiong already.

So, grab your existing HDMI cable, go intoa shop and buy some identical replacement.
If that doesn´t work, you probably need another PCIe card for a test and if both PCIe cards don´t work there´s probably a issue w/ the XITE-1 box.

Let´s hope for it´s the HDMI cable !

good luck

Thanks Bud I was getting ready to pay the M$ gatekeepers money for Windoze 8.
I'll have to drive into Nashville as I am in a farming community now where I wait for Roosters to cross the road, everything is green and it actually rains here.
Tomorrow I shall buy replacements as I need them any way even the Solaris Power supply must have a spare as I have never added redundancy to Scope DSP based gear before, it's never the gear it's always some silly shit that costs a few bones.

Windoze 8 cost me less than $100. That to me is a bargain.

It can dual boot, which means one can eliminate the OS as the cause pretty much instantly.

Other than that the cable and PCIe card as Bud suggest.

I am thinking of getting a spare cable and PCIe card anyway for redundancy and just such troubleshooting eliminations as being discussed here.

To keep one PCIe card permanently birthed in spare machine for quick up time or testing.

Spare PCIe card is what $$$ - ?? I see the express card for 149 euro on soniccore shop - but I don't see the PCIe card there separately for sale.

I re seated everything again, un installed everything, re installed everything, then watched a new project (default ) load up.
So I then copied over the 4 projects I use, all worked with the exception of my last live 02 that I have been using for weeks.
So it appears a corrupted project occurred and I remember when installing a new BETA of Reaper that my MIDI I/Os were not able to allow reaper to work, and I saw this once before.
It appears I must close a project when downloading and opening a new updated DAW revision, as it somehow fucks my shit up.
The problem with that is it always stalls out unless Scope is open.
So I must close Scope - updeate Reapers weakness- Open Scope--launch Repaer.....And everyone always asks why I use Bidule.....Shee-iittt.
What a waste of time, but a valuable lesson in trouble shooting.

Cocktails have been dispersed...

Ankyu mates for listening to my whiny ass again.

Well this is a valuable lesson for all, and must go into the troubleshooting guide as it sure as hell looked like a hardware problem to me.

Well maybe part of it was, since you reseated everything.

Just glad you fixed it mate !!

the error messages aren't very intelligent. they're generic.

the first set related to the Scope software losing contact with the XITE while it was running. the last message indicated that the Scope software couldn't communicate with the XITE during startup when the software does a diagnostic.

you can use any hdmi cable with the proper ends. sure, you can use a right angle cable.

Arrrghhhh,- and I now remember I got this message after a system drive crash when I recovered my "default project" which launches all time I launch SCOPE.
I did not only the disconnect/ connect and re-seat jobs but also had to rebuild my "default project" which was obviously corrupted.

Anyway, better than ordering, waiting for and replacing hardware !

Cool it works for you again!

best

Short question here:

Is the XITE-1 PCIe card PCIe 1.1 or PCIe 2.0 standard ?

Just asking because I have a HP laptop here for free, actually running Vista but offering a PCIexpress 1.1 slot.
It would be necessary upgrading the processor to a Intel Core2Duo T9300 at least and I wonder if it´s worth the investment of about EUR 60.- for processor and EUR 149.- for the PCIexpress cable.

thx in advance ...

Yes Bud,
I went back to loading a default (BLANK) project with only RoyT's big MIDI Monitor as that is hard to place from Modular shells now where I want it.
I always would drag it from a shell into the upper left corner, and you could see it visually and connect it only after clicking off and on the routing window.

I also figured loading all of Kontakt samples into RAM so I could control the Horn Swell lengths and other nifty tricks nobody but me would notice also is a problem.
One should learn to just leave shit alone once it works.

Cheers.
