SpaceF Fat Inserts - gain matching / FAT I vs. FAT II ?

Hi Guys,

Just bought the Fat Inserts (and the DAS dynamic bundle - which I have some first impressions of - but i will familiarize with some more and then post my observations ... Like stereo image narrowing ...

Regarding the Fat Inserts - they are indeed "Furious" .... (And add ALOT of gain )




My question is - - -
How do you guys do level matching (take down the level after the fat inserts to match the original "unfat" levels ?
There is only an input knob (which i guess controls the amount of saturation) - but no output knob ? Do you just add a gain reducer to the inserts ?


Also - in HitFoundry - mehdi mentions "FAT I" and "FAT II" (is this referring to the x2 button ? Or does this refer to different devices ?)

I mainly use 'FAT II-S' in which you can choose between Fat I or II and there is a input and an ouput knob.

(I downloaded mine from the scope5 directory at the SC website ... And Its not what you are describing ... )

Ah ! Well it's long time ago... You should have 7 or 8 devices. Some are Fat I or II (or both) + limiter.

I think the best way to get all the devices is to contact Spacef. You can PM him here, on Z. He will do every thing needed. His site :

But I know that he had a lot of problem with it, and I must say I don't recognize it.

I PMd him .. (The site has no links/info on the FatInserts ...)

(I only got the old inserts (all the prefix variations) ... Not Fat II and no limiter ....)
