Synths are not polyphonic
Synths are not polyphonic
Is this by design or am I doing something wrong?
Re: Synths are not polyphonic
how could it be by design?
check life bar, or...manual.

Re: Synths are not polyphonic
The organ is the only "synth" that has polyphony.
Is this some kind of joke to take my money?
Will something decent come with v6 or do we have to use 404 and Roland clones for the rest of eternity?

Re: Synths are not polyphonic
I know how it works, as I say the B-2003 is the only synth module that is polyphonic.
Any Pad preset that I select is monophonic.
Page 14 of the Vectron mentions something about polyphony.

Re: Synths are not polyphonic
Damn ! You are a really hard manual reader ! You don't miss a thing !
Re: Synths are not polyphonic
Also something in the Poison manual about VCF but no more than one note at a time.
Got plenty of DSP, so what's the problem anyone?

Post a screenshot of your synths and livebar.
Re: Synths are not polyphonic
see that "1" under "omni"?
that's the number of voices. you can choose how many voices there.
many synths like the minimoog are not poly synths, so you might want it to only have one voice. since one voice takes about 2 dsps, you also wouldn't want more voices than necessary.

Re: Synths are not polyphonic
Now that's a language I understand, thank you very much.
I got Crystal Bell on Lightwave going (I am used to the Novation X-station polyphony).
Pretty amazing sound actually, no glittching or "patting" that you get with native.
Pity though, there is no Xite dealer in my country. I could buy one right now if I really cared but I could bet my bottom dollar I wouldn't get all the synth technology on offer anyway and would need to spend double.
Thinking about it now, all the money Schools spend on so-called music gear, do Sonic Core actually venture into the Government markets?
Now if I could only get a refund on my PowerCore.
Also, I just increased the polyphony to 16 and it said limit reached (specifically something about STDM board 0 to board 2) but I could Optimise project. Does this mean I need an extra STDM cable?
Thanks again

Re: Synths are not polyphonic
that might help. 16 voices is probably excessive, but after an optimization or three, you'd probably reach a dsp layout that maximized the available resources.
Re: Synths are not polyphonic
I reduced the polyphony to 8, so thanks for the hint.
As much as I'd like potential for more realtime synths, for my "work" I only need the mixer and one (synth) at a time for composition.
Maybe I could use a drum machine as well but they are a bit bland out of the box so that's another thing I hope Scope v6 will bring to the table (the native stuff from the Swedes is great for song writing).
The Lightwave has some quite nice sounds, and since my only experience was Powercore, I always found that (tc) rather grainy.
Also, I could not get 96Khz operation working so I am now wondering about a multi-card setup.
It would be great if the Special came back and I could purchase more licenses, since the cards themselves are not that expensive but that's probably me just me wishing.
Got the following as well:

Re: Synths are not polyphonic
routing mistake or project corruption(the warning)....
you only need one card with a license per computer.

Re: Synths are not polyphonic
It's fine now, thank you Dante.
I'm quite surprised at the quality of the sounds the synths make.
It's just a pity that Scope is not more widespread otherwise I'd not have bought either SSL or PowerCore (I did not regret UAD because they have good support for native).
Anyway, thanks for all your help along the way and to garyb as well otherwise I'd not be up and running at all let alone actually enjoy using it.
Cheers
