Sound stutters...

I'm using Pulsar II (with the new SFP) and Cubase SX. There is a constant stuttering in the sound, both for VSTi and Pulsar's sounds.
I've checked the ULLI and it's on the lowest check (which means quite a latency) so that's not it. I have 512 Ram and P4 1.6.
The motherboard is Asus PB4266. Any thoughts?

Before you go changing things, please provide more details of your setup, are any IRQ's shared? Other pci/isa devices?
Look in the device manager do any devices have exclaimation marks next to them or question marks?
Do you have any antivirus running in the background?
There are loads that can be tried before even thinking about the graphics card, but more info is needed. Thanks

First and foremost try adjusting the buffers in the audio properties page to a higher value, try doubling or tripling what it is now.
I'm sorry if I'm not more specific as I don't have cubase SX.
Failing that my sugggestion to you would be to go back to a minimum configuration, so uninstal any devices that use USB, and disable the usb ports in the bios.
Uninstall the onboard sound drivers, and disable the onboard sound in the bios.
Uninstall cubase Sx and SFP, then reinstall the latest versions of both.
Then you can rule out things and start to look at other possibilities.

!!!!!!!IRQ - shared with on board sound card, and USB.
No ISA, and Norton antivirus running.
norton antivirus on a daw? disable the onboard sound.you have a powerful card, but it won't work to it's full potential unless you make the host computer specifically for music.make a dual boot system if you don't want another computer.(at least)
I'll tell ya - the dual boot thing is a really nice alternative to buying another PC just for office work. But in my case, it really didn't seem to improve anything in terms of system performance or improved SFP stability. That Partition Magic/BootMagic software was one of the best upgrades I made in software. Highly recommended!
May I suggest that Cubase SX is a brand new program. I would expect things ntot to work properly. From what I have heard Cubase has been rebuilt from the ground up. Intitial releases often have major bugs. Did you try the old Cubase or Logic? I would imagine that cracked versions would be even more problematic. I wouldn't accuse you of that it's just a statement.
