This is how my new guitar sounds

Post by Nestor »

Hi guys

You already know I have received as a Christmas present a Fender Thinline 1969. I would have not suspected this instrument would be so versatile and good sounding, it really shines. I would have not chosen for myself a Telecaster, but the present is simply perfect! It is like this one:

I have been learning to play with a pick for the last 4 months more and less, I find it difficult because I used to play guitar with my fingers only, and now I find my left hand much more skillful than my right, and it is quite frustrating sometimes, but hey, there I am learning. The sound of a Tele with a pick is amazing! :D

Enjoy these backing tracks with some jam on them:

Upss, sorry about that, I don't use Soundcloud... You should download it directly to your pc, can you? If you can't, tell me.

What I knew is that Teles are harder to play than many other models, what is true, that they are eventually pretty uncomfortable because of their lack of curved borders to better suit your body, call it "lack of ergonomics", which is also true, that they are most of all for blues and rock, mmmm, I’m no longer sure about it... they match everything you want.

The shape of a Tele is not particularly attractive to my eyes, but I now look at this guitar and feel respect for the idea behind it, the shape, everything. The more I play it, the more I discover how cool it can sound, I'm very pleased.

Every guitar player should consider having a Tele in their list.

You can also do this:

*Open your Windows Media Player
*Copy the link of the song
*Past it using "Control" + "U" in your keyboard and hen "Accept", that's it.

A friend of mine bought a new Fender stratocaster signature something model. 3000e.
The first days we get surpised how good that guitar sounded. After some days we reached the conclusion that his fernandes guitar (300e), his Shur guitar (3000+e) and the stratocaster just sound like my friend is playing... (good) Don't want to spoil it for you...

I really really want a Tele. I want the classic butterscotch blonde with black scratchplate and maple neck. I'd also like a Tele Custom in black with the Wide Range pick-up.

I do have one Tele though, lovely guitar with some upgrades. It's my Baritone Telecaster:

That's fine, you don't, don't worry.

You can hear how it sounds for yourself. I did not do any effort in this tracks recording with attention to detail or anything like that, you are hearing the instrument pluged to pulsar then recorded to Cubase, as simple as that, and it sounds to my taste, really cool, don't know...

i suggest recording in vdat. Do a test. Record at the same time to cubase and to vdat. then ab compare them.

i'm not saying that all guitars are made equal. I'm just saying that the player counts most.

By the way does anyone have an opinion about how much the body of the electric guitar influences the sound? Because the body is wood and it is not a magnetic element.

1. sustain
2. colouring the sound by different sustain values for different freq. spectra.
3. ?

wood makes the most difference, besides the player.

the sound is wood and steel vibrations.

Do you want to rethink about it for a minute?

I have a Status bass with graphite neck.
Advantage: equal resonance factor in the material, as no woodnerves, grow rings etc. :)

2%?
I dunno, but regarding overall sustain my guess is more.

hehe, the pickup doesn't react on wood you mean, but indirectly it's true yet: the strings get 'amplified' and frequency-and harmonics-ly coloured by the wood.
The tension of the strings on the wood can easily be 80 KG if I'm right, not to mention what happens to a piano...
