After installing SFP3.1a I get a problem with the DirectX driver.

DX Diag reports:
"ERROR: Problem getting extra sound info, result code=0x8878000a (The request failed because Direct Sound resources, such as the priority level, were already in use by another caller)."

This causes some applications (like Sonic Syndicate Orion, NeXoft Samplibrowse)to fail to load.
With Pulsar 3.01 running with a Direct Sound driver, no such problem exists.

Can anyone else confirm this bug?
I'm operating on Win98SE, DirectX 8.1

Maybe I'm the only user with this problem, but I've solved it by copying the Direct Sound Source.mdl from my Pulsar3 installation into SFP/.../IOs/Software (renamed it Direct Sound SourceP3.mdl so it wouldn't overwrite the SFP mdl) and use this in my startup.pro. Now all applications using direct sound (incl DXDiag) operate normally.

Thanks for posting the answer....

When some poor person - half insane with frustration - does a search on Planet Z in a few months time for this problem, at least they'll also find the solution
