Re: Is the protone and proone the same?
Hi,
No, Zarg's Pro One is more 'gritty' / agressive.
ProTone probably will do a better job on polyphony on Xite1

Re: Is the protone and proone the same?
Pro One v3.0: Has more powerful Arp, And a fully programmable Sequencer (length of steps, multiple patterns, etc)
ProTone: Midi Sync'd LFO, AfterTouch Control, Chorus + Delay, Velocity to both Filter and Amp Env, Basic Sequencer (like the original ProOne...it records your playing, and then plays it back...2 sequences available).
I do think the CEM Filter Emulation in the Pro-One is a little grittier than the filter of the ProTone (I could be wrong, they are pretty close).
For my money, the Pro-Wave is the shit. All the power of the Pro-One (without Sequencer) and Prophet5, but so many GOOD choices for Oscillators and Filters (including the Moog Ladder!). Since I use my DAW for sequencing and Arpegiation, I don't need those features, but the synth engine is really powerful. If you bought the Zarg Bundle, then you also have all the RD Modules, which adds 1x10^3 choices.

Pro One is Zarg.

Both have John Bowen involved.

And both are good.
I find myself leaning towards the proTone for a more polished sound though.

Re: Is the protone and proone the same?
Am I stupid? Is the protone with in Scope 5.1? Or must I buy this extra?
Because I have 5.1, but no protone.
And I have a pro one with my zarg bundle, very cool synth.
