I installed my Synchrotron for SFP 3.1 last night and was going to install the *.pep file that they posted as an update. However, I noticed that the file that ships with 3.1 is actually later than the one from GrenzFrequenz so I did not do this. I assume that the fixed version has been shipped as standard by CW.On 2002-05-15 08:07, Spirit wrote:
A patch was sent out a few months for the Synchrotron - I never installed mine because everything was working fine. For the 3.1 Frontiersmen, maybe this is the moment ...
Didn't try running the Synchrotron last night, but did try it whilst beta'ing SFP 3.1, without installing the 'fix' from Grenzfrequenz, and all seemed OK. But I don't even know what the fix was meant to fix. <g>
Ben
PS Anyone know if they are going to produce anything else? The Synchrotron was great and the Amphetamine was also excellent (and free !)

Okay, I couldn't resist and installed the new soft today.
Everything seems to be working ok, no problems so far. I like the faster graphics! thank you CW! I also like how you can now disable the proj. window and have all your synths on your desktop
Apart from that stuff seems to load a bit faster which is very nice to see.

I emailed them awhile ago when I posted the Amphetamine here to planetz, and they said that they were working on a drum synth/machine for pulsar, but that must have been a year ago . . .On 2002-05-15 08:45, Ben Walker wrote:

This is from GrenzFreq web site
http://www.grenzfrequenz.de/info.htm
"Synchrotron 2.0" will be available at the Creamware online shop in 2002
for registered Synchrotron 1.0 users the update will be free
Btw, I still can't get Synchrotron to operate on SFP3.1. A few presets will work, but most of them yield no sound, and tweaking the buttons has no effect.
I have a number of other devices/modules that don't function, or have corrupted display problems with SFP, including PsyFi's "Sfera" and all the SpaceF text modules. I have no idea if this is specific to my system or if other users have similar problems.

I suspect you're running in "Classic" mode which has a few visual bugs still (including the hilariously named "<a href=http://www.planetz.com/forums/viewtopic ... 1&23>White Screen of Death</a>" by sandrobOn 2002-05-16 09:56, dbmac wrote:

Yes, I've noticed that, too. I mean those presets in the Synchrotron. Some of them works as before but some not - after playing some sequencer notes it calms down to silence... Hope they will update the great synth, indeed

I have this sometimes. Open a Low Cut filter and you get one, but graphically it's a Low Pass.On 2002-05-13 10:31, gedas wrote:

I think this is an example of Creamw@re quite rightly forcing us to rely on our ears in an increasingly visual age !

Hi There!
PROBLEM: Midi-Controller-Presets cause Synthie-Presets to load incompletely.
More Detailed: I assigned some Midi-CC-Controllers to Cutoff, Reso & so on and saved this in a specific MidiController-Bank (which i think is normally a very nice feature). After loading this file SFP seems to "forget" some of the other Preset´s settings, that means it forgets to set some parameters to their specific value (for example: On Preset 1 CutOff should be 64, but SFP keeps the previous value - whatever that was). For questions please mail me.
SETUP: P3 833Mhz, i815EP (CUSL-2C), W98SE, Scope/SP classic.
Confirmed: Only by me - can someone confirm that? For questions please mail me, thank you!
Bye, Chrisznix

Hi folks.
Amidst the flurry of posts here
I haven't been able to find anything related to the problems I'm having. I have *not* contacted tech support (yet).
I'm running with the following HW / SW:
- PC Compaq 850Mhz 384Mb RAM
- Creamware Luna II w/ 1 Z-link breakout box
- Creamware SFP software, Creamware Luna 3.0x software, Creamware Luna 2.x software
- Sonic Foundry Vegas Video 3.0, Sound Forge 5.0, Vegas Audio 2.0
I ran Luna 2.x software from May 2001 until December 2001 without any glitches; and Luna 3.0x software from December 2001 until today without any glitches. (The only problem I ever had was a @*!# Compaq keyboard with a 'Sleep' button that would kill recording sessions... grrr... that keyboard has been replaced...) Am hoping that I've done something dumb so that I'll be able to get SFP running for me without any glitches ASAP...
Problems:
1) Strange recording problem. The vu meters in Vegas 3.0, Sound Forge 5.0, and Vegas 2.0 all show input. But when I hit 'record', nothing gets recorded! Doing exactly the same thing with the Luna 3.0x software works fine. The test I performed was as follows:
- running the 'toner' test tone generator (http://www.planetz.com/forums/viewtopic ... forum=16&0)
- Quality = 96KHz, 24 bit for CW & Vegas
- ULLI = 1 ms (the lowest possible)
- output from the 'toner' straight to a WAV 24 software output
*OR*
- output from the 'toner', through an Obsidian gain trimmer (pot set to trim the signal a few dB), to a WAV 24 software output
For the SFP test, the Vegas pre-fader input VU meters (in both versions of Vegas) show input coming in from CW (though occasionally they do stop showing input, not sure exactly why -- but the VU meters kick in again as soon as I scroll through the Creamware 'Settings' panels 'Global', 'ULLI', etc, and then go back to the Vegas window). The Vegas input VU meters work consistently when recording from the Luna v3.0x SW. Pressing record in Vegas with input from SFP results in nothing -- no WAV form even appears in the display during recording, and after I hit 'stop' there is no 'Delete / save' dialog from Vegas. With Luna 3.0x software, the input records perfectly.
This is, of course, a show stopper for me -- I can't record any tracks -- so I have to stick with 3.0x for the time being even though I'm very impressed with the GUI aspects of SFP. But still...
2) I can't get certain devices to appear when I add them. I have the Obsidian Toolbox (which I *love*!) and I installed it in C:SFP after installing the Creamware SFP software. When I add a device from the livebar, certain devices -- such as pots and mixers -- work fine; but certain devices -- such as oscillators -- never appear in the routing window. None of the Obsidian devices appear in the livebar. Is this a known problem? They all work fine in Luna 3.0x.
3) The stereo mixer (STM 16/32) uses *way* more DSP power than the old 24/48 mixer. (Please Pulsar users, no 'nya nya's...
The 16/32 mixer is completely unusable in a Luna 3 DSP environment as far as I can tell. Has any other Luna II user (with only 3 DSPs) had any success using the 16/32 mixer? (n.b.: the surround mixer *barely* works with 3 DSPs.)
Anyway if anyone has any insight into what I might be doing wrong or what I can tweak I would *greatly* appreciate the help. Please send email to:

Problem:
1.Changing midi channel and number of voices causes crash.
This hasn't happaned again since I changed the values by click-dragging them.´
2. SFP has problems on startup. There is a vertical line of green horizontal lines at the top of the screen. SFP doesn't answer windows.
This doesn't happen everytime.
Adaptec direct cd is the only other application that loads on startup.
System: i845 P4 win 98, Pulsar+Powersamler

Try to copy keygroup on the STS sampler
twice and than freeze....
Audio recordings are interrupted (damaged) by midi events thru the asio driver on cubase vst32 5.1r1
Lot of crashes generally sfp3.1a is very unstabile randomly.
Asio Flt driver is not working on Cubase
no 32 bit record or playback
G4 466 Mhz 640MbRam
scope x 2

Did anyone else notice both Inferno's ADSRs loose CC# connection when a Remote Control preset is recalled?
